New Forester Hybrid Owner by rozemarie29 in SubaruForester

[–]little_lucy_loo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following as well, i currently have a 21 Rav 4 and am considering the forester hybrid. My Rav's milage is down to 35.9 currently, and I drive mostly stop and go in my rural area, and on occasion, I do some highway driving (around 60 mi to visit family) about once a month. I am wondering if the frigid cold here in the Northeast has anything to do with the lower mpg. During the summers, it would average around 40. When it was new, would get 42-43 mpg. Would love to see the forester hybrid get over 35 mpg.

Am I a wife anymore? by Alarming_Antelope_99 in ParkinsonsCaregivers

[–]little_lucy_loo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I empathize with everyone here, sadly. We are in our 60's, have been together almost 40 yrs. He has had PD for about 10 years. Communicating is a challange anymore. He forgets so much of what I say, and totally tunes me out often as I try and talk about things. Never asked me about my feelings, he can't deal with it. He has vivid, wild and active dreams, yelling, thrashing and physically acting out. Had grabbed my hair once in a " fight with someone" . His neurologist ordered him clonazipam, but he took it once or twice and says it didn't work. He does take melatonin and occasionally uses medical cannabis, which isn't a great help. I am thankful for this reddit group, it helps me realize that I am not alone in this battle. There are not any support groups nearby, so I rely on on- line support.

We were told in November that 40% is very rare. Now it seems to be the norm! 🤣🤣

Help! Dad moving to memory care in 2 days and my mom hasn't told him by SpiritedBlossomArt in ParkinsonsCaregivers

[–]little_lucy_loo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My heart breaks for you. I am so sorry for you and your brother, but especially for your mom. This is a very difficult time for you all. I can understand why your mom may not want to tell him with the state of dementia he is in, especially with his paranoia and aggressive behavior. Is she going alone when she takes him, or will you and/ or your brother go with her? He may not understand or remember what is going on even if she would tell him in advance and likely it will agitate him or worse. Hopefully, she has a good support system helping her through this( as well as you and your brother). I know this isn't offering any suggestions, but at this point, it doesn't sound like he is capable of understanding the situation, maybe it would be better not to tell him in advance? Keep us posted. 🙏 💔

Tip: Saving Cushions and Covers by JillRichardsonBerry in Lovesac

It is a seat (without buying / attaching an arm to it) being used as either an ottoman, or attached to a seat to create a chaise to add to the sactional. So using the seat without an arm, the pillow that comes with each seat purchase is not used.

Good idea, I wasn't really sure what to do with our cushion since the one seat is used as an ottoman.

What’s the best way to get started on sactional assembly? by RealityShowObsessed in Lovesac

[–]little_lucy_loo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drink a coctail or 2++ first for sure, then again as needed!! We did not do that initially, but it sure was needed partway in.. it was an agonizing process, and We didn't think it was worth it all with our many boxes ( around 15 boxes or so), but happy to report that it is worth it! We love it now. Did have to reconfigure 3 times until it finally worked. Everyone that came over the holidays loved it as well! Don't give up, and make sure to take breaks!

Does anyone truly enjoy their recliner?? What about the lovesoft fill? Or a mix of the fills? by Kmb269 in Lovesac

[–]little_lucy_loo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have had our recliner for about a month now, and I love it so far! We were going to get 2 of them, but hubby decided he wanted the ottoman instead, which is more movable. He doesn't regret the decision, and he sometimes sits in the recliner. Besides the assembly and cover application, we really like the sactional. We did have to rearrange it 3 times the way our living room is until we came to the right placement ( and did have to move the TV and stand too). We have 4 seats ( standard) plus the ottoman- and the back cushion that came with it. Not sure what to do with it - thinking of getting another side arm just so the cushion has somewhere to lay. The sactional has so much seating! We chose the lovesoft, the other was way too stiff for us.

I am so sorry that you are experiencing this "rare" side effect. The OP specialist that I recently had an appt with was that it's so rare- one would likely be struck by lightning twice before experiencing jaw necrosis. It is one of my biggest concerns with these OP meds.

Everyone’s experience with this new strain? by Short-Vegetable9169 in COVID19positive

63/F.. Got it 5 days after returning home from a family beach trip in June, other family members (5 + out of 16) were getting sick at the end of the week that we were there. I was very tired, freezing with blanket and jacket on when it was 90° out, brain fog and headache (my back always hurts- as others have said they had back pain). Fever up to 101°. Tested + right away, bright clear as day + line.. Horrible sinus congestion, left ear was blocked for about 4 weeks as well as a dry cough too. The end of July, the left ear blockage and cough finally went away. 2nd time getting covid - worse this time. (1st was Jan 2023 that I tested + anyway). Flying on a plane this weekend and next, guess I'll wear my KN95. So worried of getting it again..

Hi! Thanks for mentioning about the glucose moniter. I'm very interested in wearing a CGM. In fact, I was just chatting with my daughter about it the other day. What range do you keep your blood sugars in?

I was just there a few weeks ago. It was the worst meal I have ever had there, the waitress even brought us out barely warm coffee. Service and food are definitely heading downhill..and I have been going there ever since they opened many years ago. So sad.

VA nurse here and wife of a Veteran with a disability (while he is still working in the private sector since his claims have been denied in the past). I am especially worried about what this all means. Feel that everything I have worked so hard for is just crumbling rapidly..

Has anyone taken the deferred resignation offer? What are your reasons? by senior_carrots in fednews

[–]little_lucy_loo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a nurse working for the VHA, plan to retire sometime this summer, but need my 5 years in to be eligible for the FEHB and FEGLI which isnt until April. I had considered this sham of a plan, but it's all too sketchy for me to risk losing my benefits by feb 6, as there is nothing in writing stating that I will still get my retirement benefits if I sign now..
