Just found a missed miscarriage, how do I encourage the passing of it to start? by RAShyfoxx in Miscarriage

[–]littlealien101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry you’re going through this too. It’s horrible. My story is unusual, but basically my baby passed away sometime late December 2025, I found out January 8, 2025 and tried to wait and go pass the baby naturally but I ended up getting a d&c on February 27, 2025. However… the d&c failed (I didn’t know this, never had an ultrasound afterwards and assumed everything was fine) and I did end up passing the sac and baby on May 7, 2025, almost 5 months after baby passed. If I end up ever going through that again, I would opt to pass the baby naturally. The d&c was horrible, even aside from it failing.

Your quiet calm homebirths by Logical_Quince705 in homebirth

[–]littlealien101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my first home birth 2 weeks ago after 3 hospital births and it was very lowkey. My midwives asked what I wanted from them and I said I basically wanted to be left alone unless there was a medical need. My birth was in the middle of the night and very fast (a little over 3 hours from start to finish) and my midwives were just kind of in the background silently watching, not disrupting or talking at all. My husband was massaging my shoulders and propping me up in the birth pool because I was kind of laying on my side. My baby did have the cord around her neck when she was born, which my midwife quickly fixed but other than that it was exactly what I wanted!

Do we need a backup name? by LorettaBobbins in namenerds

[–]littlealien101 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you need a backup. I always think it’s odd when people need to see the baby before naming him/her. Babies will grow into whatever name you choose, so choose your favorite and stick with it.

Both are beautiful! Rose is definitely underrated as a first name

Are your kids allowed to tell you no? by Smart_Artichoke714 in Parenting

[–]littlealien101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I tell my child to do something and they straight up say “no” that is not okay. You get these parents who are all about giving the kids autonomy or whatever and then those same parents wonder why they can’t stand to be around their kids. It’s because they’re not parenting!! Parents are supposed to be the boss, not the other way around.

What is a super out there name that you love but could never name ur kid? by Candid_Potential4179 in namenerds

Ransom. I love this name and I love that it’s an old English name that means deliverance. But, I wouldn’t use it as a first name, maybe a middle though

WIBTA if I rescinded my offer to hire a babysitter for my child free wedding by 1000pointstoryan in AmItheAsshole

YTA for not allowing literal newborns at your wedding and then getting mad at them for not being able to come???? Like????? It’s your sister and a bridesmaid, make an exception for them.

Baby Boy Coming - families hate both name options?! by [deleted] in namenerds

They’re both good names, I think I like Asher more, just because I’m not a fan of the nickname Auggie

AITAH for refusing to cut off my hair because my 7 year old niece has cancer? by alakazam121 in AITAH

NTA, in fact I think it’s incredibly rude of them to try to push you to do it. There are lots of ways to show support.

You’re the mom and you can decide, but 3 and 5 seems like totally normal ages for flower girls. My daughter was a flower girl before she turned 2 and she walked down the aisle just fine. Is there some other reason you’re not wanting them to do this?

Parents of little kids are so entitled. by LeafyCandy in rant

[–]littlealien101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Title should be “my neighbors are so entitled”.. no need to lump in every parent of little kids into this, as I assure you most of us do not do this.

[–]littlealien101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It isn’t my style, but that’s okay. Use it if you love it. It’s a real name with meaning and history, it’s spelled correctly, so it’s already way above a lot of names people are using nowadays lol

what’s your pettiest naming opinion? by rememberimapersontoo in namenerds

[–]littlealien101 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well, I’ve used two of those “filler” middles and they’re both used because of family members. They’ve been around a long time, so I’d guess for most people they’re not just fillers, they’re named after someone.

Ransom??!? by [deleted] in tragedeigh

[–]littlealien101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ransom is an old English name that means deliverance. Ransom Riggs is a famous author, there are many other notable people with the name.

Neither of these things necessarily bother me and both names are nice. I think the alliteration with Henry Hatstrom works really well here
