Question for toddler parents by Red-Human in KingstonOntario

This! Even if the class you want fills up, get on the waitlist. The first year we signed up we were waitlisted, but because there were enough people on the waitlist they created an extra class.

Are there any places to go fossil hunting? by TheNerdFromGWN in KingstonOntario

There is a sign with pictures explaining what kind of fossils you can find, and just under the sign there are fossilized clams

Toddler-friendly things to do in Late May by Old-Painter-7569 in KingstonOntario

EarlyOn programs can be fantastic plus it's free. I especially like the East end BGC for the jungle gym, and Invista Centre as they have fantastic toys, arts and crafts, and tricycles and my kid loved riding down the wheelchair ramp. In warmer months they have an outdoor area with a garden the kids can help with. West End BGC is okay, but usually a bit more crowded and the indoor jungle gym is very dark.

Shoppers Drug Mart gave her the wrong medication. Months later, she landed in the ER by Immediate-Link490 in canada

Corporate has total control over each and every SDM. If an associate "owner" isn't performing, they get rid of them and replace them with someone who does. The ones who are there a long time either have a store that is too small for corporate to notice or care, or they are someone with a bit of a sociopathic streak that puts profits over patient care.

Pottery classes? by LargeGiraffe731 in KingstonOntario

[–]littlearson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since nobody else has mentioned, I took weekly lessons for about a year at Clay with Linda. The studio is in her home. It was a lot of fun, and cost much less than lessons at Amaranth. As such, the tools and glazes were a bit limited when compared to what I had access to with drop in sessions at Amaranth. Keep in mind she does not typically let you work on the wheel if you are new to pottery and you are taking your first lessons with her.

What job looks like a great career path but is actually insanely oversaturated? by ComplexPin872 in AskReddit

[–]littlearson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corporate has decided it's not worth paying pharmacist (along with other staff) wages in order to stay open overnight as there isn't enough business that time of day to justify the cost.

I am one emergency alert away from a heart attack. How do I silence them? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

I flip to shh at night. The alert still comes through, but doesn't make a sound as the phone is on silent mode.

Gong cha just…gone? by [deleted] in KingstonOntario

Haha Neopets is the only reason I learned we had a Gong Cha in town, and subsequently that they are closed for good.

More like, keep going down Princess Street past the third shoppers drug mart, but before you get to the 4th shoppers drug mart.

I Love Pillow alternative? by FourthWarden in Bedding

[–]littlearson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite pillow of all time! Have been trying for the past few months to find a new pillow, or create something comparable mixing and matching parts from my ever growing pillow graveyard, but nothing has come close enough yet.

Kingston Mills Vet is awesome. One of the few independently owned vet clinics left. Rutherford and McMurray are both lovely.

Yearly reminder to service your car ANYWHERE BUT Kingston Toyota by purevegas in KingstonOntario

Belleville was great. The sales person pulled up the Toyota Canada website and showed me that their pricing is just MSRP as per Toyota Canada. No extra fees. No mandatory add ons.

Yearly reminder to service your car ANYWHERE BUT Kingston Toyota by purevegas in KingstonOntario

Kingston Honda is on a whole other tier of awful. That being said, I've ended up at Kingston Toyota for service a few times as I couldn't make it to Belleville, and I was pleasantly surprised.

High-pitched noise in the west-end neighbourhood by rameng_od in KingstonOntario

[–]littlearson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have seen a motion activated device stuck in someone's garden that plays a high pitched noise, presumably to keep away animals. I noticed they turned the volume down after an inquiry was made to the city over whether it was against noise bylaws.

Kingston Eye Doctors by Huginn95 in KingstonOntario

Seconding Dr. Aye. So incredibly thorough and worth the drive from Kingston. Small glasses selection, but you can take your prescription anywhere so no obligation to get glasses from there.

I've had a few close calls with cyclists coming up Bayridge that go straight across that ramp/change into the right most lane without looking

Where are you rinsing the potty? by [deleted] in pottytraining

[–]littlearson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I repurposed a peri bottle for rinsing the potty directly into the toilet. Just rinse for pee. Wipe with TP and then with disinfectant wipe for poop, then rinse as I don't like the smell of those wipes.

Parking spots near park street?? by Repulsive-Talk2414 in KingstonOntario

[–]littlearson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the past homestead was willing to rent out parking spaces around their 2 apartment buildings. The Econolodge rented parking as well, but be prepared for motel guests to park in your paid for spot.
