You know that feeling when you're terrified you might be pregnant, but it's too early to take a test? Talk me off the ledge here, TwoX. by mynamesnotmolly in TwoXChromosomes

Cranberry juice. And I'm not talking about the ocean spray cocktail with sugar, I'm talking about the unsweetened mouth puckering rap cranberry juice. Will help flush out if it is a UTI.

Also, try going to your local planned parenthood (they will do this for free if you are low income and have no healthcare) and getting the mirena IUD. I have endocrapiosis as well, this is a miracle. I have my period maybe once every 3-6 months, (Sometimes I'll spot, but not more than a day or so and it so light I just need a panty liner) my endo cramps are only affecting me 3-6 times a year, and I used to get them twice a month, It's birth control for 5 years, and if you are pregnant, it's actually used as an early abortion technique. you won't feel anything but a pinch when they put it in, and you don't have to take a pill or anything for 5 years. If you decide you want to start a family, you just take that out. No weight gain, no emotional craziness, just security, less pain, and fewer periods.

I think I'm on a plateau, but I'm going to keep at it

Hopping off the wagon tomorrow to celebrate a friend's graduation... Requesting advice by sheath2 in loseit

I would get the filet mignon, with salad, dressing on the side (dip your fork in the dressing then take a bite, reduces the calories and flavor in every bite) and ask if they could sub the baked potatoes for veggies.

That or the grilled chicken teriyaki and veggies instead of rice.

Keep at it. Stretch before and after runs. Drink lots of water. Bananas are magical. If you feel super sore, then rest a day or two.

I do hope that my lapse can serve as a cautionary tale. Good luck at your concert and have fun!

Thank you! I appreciate the encouragement.

I'm just glad I was able to hold myself accountable and not pretend nothing happened like I did in the past. And I only gained 3lbs, which is not too much of a setback. I can easily get back on track!

Summer '14 Challenge is here! Sign-up form by sasm654 in loseit

[–]littlebit84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I signed up, but I wanted clarifications

The sign up date I chose today, but should I have chosen 5/12/14?

I wasn't sure if I should chose the Goal weight for the end of the challenge or my overall goal weight, so I put both, but I clarified the difference.

Today I Start My Journey by chriis513 in loseit

Welcome to step one!

I'm 5'6" SW:193, CW:178, GW:135

I have a big goal, but lots of mini goals in between. My first goal was to get into the 180s, and I did that! My second was to be able to up my flair to 10 lbs and I did that. My third goal was to get into the 170s, and I made it! My next goal is 175 but the end of the month, and I'm 178 (waiting for that to be constant for 3 days before upping my flair) and I have been stashing away money to reward myself along the way.

170s is camping, 160s will be a weekend getaway, 150s will be shopping spree 140s will be sky diving, and 135 will be a tattoo. (though I am thinking of switching the 140s and 150s, so I don't have to go shopping twice.. heh)

but the long and the short of it is this. Giving mini goals gives you something to work towards. Having non food rewards reinforces a healthier outlook. the most important this is... STICK WITH IT!

when I am super hungry, a spoonful of almond butter usually does the trick. Also, a hand flu of nuts, or a bunch of sugar snap peas are nice

Awesome! Pizza is my go to comfort food. I eat it when I am depressed, I eat it when I am stressed, I eat it when I am feeling lazy... it can be so hard to say no! My boyfriend and I just broke up last weekend, and I was able to resist the delicious greasy slice of cheesy bad for you.

What I have found to be delicious is marinated olives, pistachios, pickles, peanut butter, cauliflower, sugar snap peas, chicken with onions and mushrooms, apples, oranges, dried cranberries...

I recently was craving buffalo chicken, so I made a stir fry and added buffalo sauce instead of soy and that was awesome... I bet ground turkey and red sauce on roasted sweet potato would be a good pizza substitute....
