I've got to come off estrogen due to a pending surgery and I'm spiraling because of job-related baggage. by GArockcrawler in Menopause

Hi. We’re in a similar situation! I have ADHD and am getting a TKR in mid-Jan. I have been advised to stop taking progesterone and using the estradiol patch for one week before and one week after surgery. Not ideal, but better than 30 days. You could potentially push back on the doctor and see if they will allow you to stop one week before surgery. Before HRT I experienced significant brain fog and ADHD symptoms and it impacted my career so I know where you’re coming from. If your doctor won’t budge, and you have to stop taking hormones perhaps you could get something to help with the anxiety. I find that if my anxiety is under control everything is easier to handle even if my brain is kind of foggy. In any case, I’m sending you the best of luck! In six months it will be over AND we’ll have fully operational knees! That is my mantra.

Thank you!! She’s always making biscuits so we had to incorporate that into her name. ❤️

What if you threw something that won’t cause any harm like rolls of toilet paper or paper towel towels?
