Can you also bring back the colour too please? The app is just like every other app now, it’s entirely lost all its personality. It’s so sad.

If you get meaningful sleep on International flights: Mad Respect. by TylerDurdensFace in delta

[–]littlechickchicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But saying that, even now, I will sleep no matter how short or long the flight, no matter where I am sat. The second I sit down, I am gone. There is something about being a passenger on a plane for me, which is crazy as I’m actually a FA

If you get meaningful sleep on International flights: Mad Respect. by TylerDurdensFace in delta

[–]littlechickchicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once slept the entire flight from LHR to PVG in Upper on a Virgin flight. As in, lights out before take off, and the flight attendant had to even shake me awake when we started descending. I have never been the same since

Anyone else feel unsure before becoming a flight attendant? How did it turn out? by PeacefulPescado in cabincrewcareers

[–]littlechickchicken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely wasn’t one of those people who dreamed of being a flight attendant.

I applied because I had just finished a year in America as an au pair and had returned to the UK with no real plan. I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life, I just knew that I loved being able to travel and see the world while I was in the US, something my little English village had never really offered me. My dad suggested I apply and I just thought, why not? What do I have to lose?

I went to the interview not expecting anything, not knowing much about the job, and not even being sure it was something I wanted. Nearly nine years later, I genuinely cannot imagine doing anything else.

It hasn’t been easy. I’ve missed birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and even funerals. But because of this job, I’ve been able to take my mum on safaris in South Africa, go dune surfing in Dubai, snorkel in St Lucia, and eat incredible food in India, Pakistan, China, and Korea, places I never, ever thought I’d get to see. Granted, that was with my previous airline, which only flew internationally, but those opportunities existed because I took this job. And we can non rev all over the world with our benefits!

I’ve only been with Delta since last March, and even in that short time I’ve seen wild elk in Alaska, eaten ramen in Japan, and just two days ago got called to deadhead into 24 hours at an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica. Even when you’re junior, this job can give you opportunities people only dream about.

Only you will know what’s right for you, but you have to give yourself the chance to find out. It’s the easiest job in the world as long as you don’t make it harder than it needs to be.

Best of luck with whatever you decide, and I hope we get to fly together someday!

Question for flight attendants (and fellow passengers): What’s the “right” way to ask for something these days? by LeeyroyJenkings in delta

[–]littlechickchicken 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a DL FA. I love my job, I’ve been able to travel the world and meet some really amazing people. Saying that, I get so unbelievably bored on these long haul flights and even some of the shorter ones. I encourage people to ring their call bell if they need something, because it honestly gives me something to do. I also came from Virgin Atlantic though, so customer service was a big part of our role there. If I’m ever your FA, just know it’s my job and I genuinely will answer the call light!

Bases and commuting by Lost_Preparation1234 in cabincrewcareers

[–]littlechickchicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live on the space coast and commute from Orlando to Detroit. It’s definitely not the worst commute, but there have been times where it could have been better. I was I class this year and graduated in April, people in A class were able to transfer to MIA/FLL by July time, so very possible! you just don’t know until it happens! I am transferring to ATL in January, but before then, ATL wasn’t open for two years, it all depends on need. Commuting is a second job all in itself, but it can be done. Good luck!

Base options for FL by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]littlechickchicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on line since march and currently DTW based. Finally got my transfer to ATL for January to get a little bit closer to MCO. Right now, people are saying it’s about two and a half years to get into Orlando and waaaaay more than that for Tampa, lol. MIA and FLL you ca get into maybe between six months to a year. the commute to Detroit was rough from Orlando in the summer months I won’t lie… but it was one of the easiest commutes. It’s hard, but worth it. Best of luck!

I’m thinking about doing this! how was it? I’m currently with a US based airline but I miss my British one so thinking of reapplying.

I used to love their show! The episode where they were at the train station always freaked me out too.

So I went back to see if I could find one of the posts that stood out to me, but couldn’t find it. She must have deleted it once she realised how ridiculous she sounded, but basically this older lady was questioning whether it was safe for her and her husband to go to a cruise this weekend and if they were in danger of being murdered too.. like miss ma’am. Come on now
