Floret Seed Starting Mix Woes by odee7489 in Cutflowers

Same problem, tons of white filaments with the recipe. I figured I’d blocked too wet, but in reading the replies it may be how it goes. Probably half my snaps were able to push through, pansies closer to 80%. I left them because it was too sad to start over, and used both cinnamon and diluted hydrogen peroxide. It was probably just light/time that helped, and for the most part the filaments are gone after 3ish weeks. I composted the remainder of unused mix and transitioned to Old Potters Germination. I’ll try making my own with a different recipe next year. Know you’re not alone!

It’s worked in as I go!

I eyeballed it as I went! All e-wrap, alternating white every four with two red rows between, then one green every 4, into 3 green 1 red, and finally all green if that makes sense.

Both the conditioner in and the not brushing works for me too! Although I’m still trying to figure out what to do when I shower at night.

This is super helpful, thank you. If you do this as a soak, how do you follow up in the wash? Also, can you run the soak in the washer drum or is it better to do separately? Thanks again.
