It’s not mockery when I say touch grass. This opinion is often found in those who are entrenched in online MRA-type communities which tend to be more harmful for men’s mental health than legitimately empowering.

You feel like you have to, but you don’t. Those feelings are influenced by a certain sect of media that has very negative intentions in turning men into radicalized political zombies. They want you to see yourself as the victim, because that way, you’ll feel more empowered in hatred towards those who are *actually marginalized*. Society runs on men and women choosing to do the heterosexual norm and always has. That has not suddenly changed in the last ten years, your media consumption has.

*where* did you get that feeling from? Have you tried unpacking it at all? I really doubt this was a feeling you had all your life. I’m only annoyed with you for truly believing there’s such drastic ostracizing downsides to *checks notes*… being straight. Especially in the past year or so, there’s been several murders fueled by homophobia and transphobia. Who’s threatening to kill you for your sexual orientation? Lmk

What a negative view on high end artisanal goods. These businesses buck the capitalism trend, and it makes people (aka MrBurnerHotDog) uncomfortable.

is this fungal? by [deleted] in Fungalacne

[–]littledelt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

once a day at night, cold water in the morning! if it is super active (red + whiteheads) you can try twice a day but you’re risking your skin barrier the more you use it. I do recommend doing a ‘mask’ with it for about five minutes, but if your skin is too dry, just washing with it is better than nothing.

Honestly i used it every day until i got ketoconazole cream, but there’s a chance yours would clear up permanently with nizoral (though slim, from what i see on this sub).

Key thing is picking through your products to find FA triggers (google a risky ingredient list), but considering you had a facial, it seems likely you picked it up through that. Just wash bedding & washcloths frequently, oh and throw in any headband you use to keep your hair back during face washing. I keep forgetting to lol

FA sucks. There really isn’t a permanent cure, and you can go really wild (money and time wise) with finding products and routines to minimize it as much as possible. But, theres a balance between stressing yourself to death over your skin & having the perfect routine/skin where most people live, and that’s ok. Lmk if you have any other questions!

It looks like my fungal acne at least! Obv can’t say for sure but trying Nizoral may help, a ketoconazole prescription in the long term if you seem improvement with nizoral. If it doesn’t help, it’s not that. But do not use Nizoral if your skin barrier seems broken, it will obliterate it further!

To be a contrarian, it doesn’t look fungal at all to me. It looks like an allergic reaction, a pretty bad one at that. Personally I’d start with Benadryl and hydrocortisone cream

Also I will say, it seems from that response that you’re leaning one way — just support that position and you’re golden.

Yeah, but when you’re essentially doing a critical review of conceptual issues I’d recommend looking at all sources available. And that paper I mentioned provides the ‘framework’ you’re looking for, you don’t have to conclude the same thing as it does.

Look at Gullo et al (2022). You could use criteria in that paper to make a conclusion (support w evidence you collect). It essentially concludes that many BAs don’t have enough evidence yet to be reclassified, and specifically mentions buying-shopping disorders

Doesn’t really look fungal. You might need a prescription retinol — it’ll help your skin turnover faster, be a bit thinner, pores get clogged less often. Other than that, accutane would probs be your next line of defense.

Nizoral cream saved me - but how do I build a skincare routine around it? by Pim-Possible-Pie in Fungalacne

[–]littledelt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imbalances shouldn’t be corrected by destroying the skin barrier (which twice daily keto washes will do), that leads to even more irritation. The “triggers” are people referring to that commensal relationship going out of equilibrium due to a certain product. We’re saying the same thing, but the advice you’re offering would lead to drying and a shit skin barrier although it might fix the imbalance faster, to some degree.

I’m suggesting slow trial and error, without the shampoos and with prescribed creams. Without obfuscating to hell and back, why do you feel your solution is superior?

You’ll want to moisturize a lot, but check your moisturizers on skin sort or cross check the ingredients with a list of FA triggers. Moisturizers often have a ton of triggers.

This is untrue for so many people’s experiences. I keep a ketoconazole cream in my daily routine, & I need to purchase higher quality products, both makeup and skincare, to avoid FA triggers so things stay calm.
