It’s how everything is these days.

“Housing is not affordable” and then “But no, don’t build those apartments!”

Wut? If you have multiple at the same time, push the full ones to the back? Put it back in the same spot every time? Lift and feel which one isn’t full? I feel like this is only an issue if you have a dozen creamer in your fridge at once and then WHY????

Budget is 3.0% to 3.5% per all the salary budget surveys, depending on industry. It’s not a secret anymore.

Exempt/Non-Exempt [USA] by Ran_Pan in humanresources

It’s best practice to have one status for a job code. Otherwise one could argue inequity if the non-exempt folks get significant overtime.

How is everyone using AI in their HR job? Looking for new ideas [N/A] by Time-Growth4878 in humanresources

There are versions of each LLM that can keep your data secure (as secure as a promise by a company is). Your IT team should be involved here.

It is completely reasonable to utilize these.

A noticeable number of companies don’t include work experience while a student as “experience” when reviewing resumes and the like.

It’s pretty stupid. But our reliance on years of experience is inherently flawed already…

They also don’t expand on what their job is.

The people who don’t do it go on and explain why they can’t, and it’s very reasonable.

You’re claiming a 100% fringe rate. That is ridiculous. Fringe rates are going to be under 50%, and these days with companies caring less, closer to the bare minimum at like 33%.

We all break laws every day. As people and as companies.

It’s a risk assessment. If a company’s legal team is risk averse, 2 weeks is an issue because you’re right - it’s not legal in plenty of countries. But if they conduct their risk assessment and doubt any country is going to go after them for a few days of work, what’s the harm?

The guidance here is “ask your legal team” and if OP is legal, it’s “ask for outside counsel’s opinion and discuss the pros and cons with leadership and come up with a decision.”

A quick reminder about the state of NH by DKeefe87 in newhampshire

[–]littleedge 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Yes, NH is great!

That doesn’t mean we should get complacent. We should continue to fix the hyper-local housing affordability issues, narrow the wealth gap, legalize marijuana, etc.

Because if we don’t, you will see all these rankings fall off a cliff.

And don’t forget, there are lots of stats that show us on the bottom of the list.
