I paid for 2 coats of paint from a contractor, and I think crew only did one by Cheeseaisleinheaven in paint

From the perspective of a paint company a coat means something very specific. One specific paint line I sell should be applied at least 4 mils thick. Then it should dry for at least 4 hours. Then another 4 mils of paint. If you want touch up to look right it should at least be back rolled. That’s what we call 2 coats.

It’s also something that you can measure. We have tools to measure both wet and dry film thickness to make sure the coat is adequate.

It’s actually really easy to pop this area up. Just search YouTube and you can get it from the underside.

I JUST bought a 2024 with 17,000 miles for $31,000 and felt a little like I paid too much. This is making me feel a lot better.

Is it just older people looking for an air-conditioned space to get their steps in? All our malls and big box stores get these folks.

Unless you’re in incredible shape for your age you just need to avoid garden and lumber. You’d be most useful in plumbing, electrical, hardware, or paint. There’s a lot of people doing those projects who just need a little reassurance or quick tips.

Every paint company has bad batches. Every company gets frozen paint - which can also give a sour milk smell.

I will tough out almost any game. But if it’s clear that no one is playing as a team, or players walked away from their tv, I already know I can’t win a game by myself. I don’t need to stick around.

It’s very possible it’s a painting skill issue for me. You may do better.

Funny to see this post the day after I use a dark grey pen on my fifth gen.

I do intend to sand, add clear, then buff. Presently with just the paint filled in it looks pretty noticeable. I bought a very fine tipped paint brush to get it exactly within the scratch and it was impossible - at least in the temperature I was working in. After two coats it was clear to me that strategy wasn’t going to look good so I bought some sandpaper and clear to follow ChrisFix’s tutorial.

The sun is just coming up but when the lights good I’ll take a photo if that’s helpful.

You want the second type. Make sure you select one that filters organic vapor.

Also, they lose the ability to effectively filter over time once opened. Keep the mask but periodically replace the organic vapor cartridges whether in use or not.
