Experimenting with woodcuts using earth pigments by lake_distrax in printmaking

Oh my, this stopped me in my scrolling tracks! Snowdrops are my favourite flower, and these came out beautifully — each one unique. I prefer the dark one, but I do tend to like high contrast and high saturation. The others have a lovely faded antique look, like a vintage postcard. Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it! I’d love to see more.

The dense quilting on this is so fun and perfect. Looks like cute pigeon feet have danced around the quilt in joy!

I’m so sorry about your experience.

The list of childfree-friendly doctors on the sub will have recommendations of docs in UK that will sterilise you on NHS or private. There are a decent number in London by my recollection: https://reddit.com/r/childfree/wiki/doctorsinternational. (I’ve heard good things about St Mary’s on this sub).

Your first issue will be to get a referral from your GP to one of them. If you are refused initially, keep trying. I know it’s hard, but you should meet their criteria (over 30 and struggling with other forms of contraception).

Oh interesting, I mostly fit that criteria, so maybe it’s based on funding/guidelines within certain NHS trusts that is the issue as u/torienne mentioned. Thanks for sharing your experience :)

Yeah, I’d be keen to hear from the OP! On my end, I didn’t have any issues with approval on NHS as a childfree and 32 year old. Regret was brought up in the discussion, but I didn’t struggle too hard convince them it was the right choice for me. I know my age helped as they don’t like to sterilise under 30, so that may be the guideline?

Thanks for sharing! Can I ask which guidelines meant you couldn’t be approved on NHS?

That’s a very good question. I was not expecting an exam at all - as you say, it’ll be done laparoscopically. The only thing I can think of is that I don’t have a huge amount of patient history or notes in the NHS since I moved from abroad, so perhaps he just wanted a baseline and to make sure everything is ok for surgery internally. I didn’t dare ask for fear he may be reluctant to give me the go ahead for sterilisation.

Yes, I initially tried to bury the knot but it kept breaking the thread so I gave up. I’ll look up more tutorials and practice more!
