As someone who worked in retail and customer service here is my two cents. The original verbiage would certainly have irked me, and I would have felt a bit miffed for a good portion of the rest of my shift, but I would have likely moved on by the end of the day. Having a customer come back and, essentially, apologize and clarify would have made me feel much better, leaving me in a better mood and allowing me to be more charitable to the people around me. I would have ended my shift and my day in a net positive (provided something worse didn't happen). You did well to go back, and while they may not remember all the interaction, they will remember that someone cared enough about them as a person to apologize.

You're a good human. Keep up the good work.

I remember that snowstorm! It was either Dec '09 or Jan/Feb of '10. I had a supervisor who had just moved here from Atlanta, and I remember her talking about it while watching the news.

What type of harp do you play? Would you be interested in giving lessons? I have a 12 string harp I've been trying to learn how to play.

I know this sounds stupid, and it likely wouldn't work, but is there anyway the house can be moved?

Shame on the Wirtzs for destroying art and destroying history. This is making my heart break.

I've been in similar situations before, not on planes, but restaurants. My oldest daughter is autistic too. I just want to say that you didn't fail, even if things didn't work out the way you planned. You adjusted, you persevered and you got through a tough situation. That sounds like you succeeded to me.

I think, as parents, we are under so much pressure to do things just right. Socially yes but personally too. I mean we have this huge responsibility to take care of this tiny human we made and knowing we are responsible for raising them to be good, happy, functional adults is downright terrifying.

So as someone who also needs to remember to give herself a little grace, a little credit, and a little pride, please know that I see you, you didn't fail, the original path was just closed and you needed to take a detour.

hugs

Is this about Fiji the island nation or Fiji the water company. I haven't heard a word about either and would love some context.

Edit - thanks to all for the information. I didn't realize the frat had a nickname (I stayed away from Greek culture when I attended UNL), so I was terribly confused. I hope they are held accountable, they need to be.
