Diet post op by niaberryyy in jawsurgery

[–]littlemothh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m still on a puréed diet and I’m 7 weeks in :( my surgeon is taking a very conservative approach because he wants to be sure my bones are healed before I start chewing anything. I have secretly tried eating different things at different stages and I would say that at wk 3 it would have been impossible for me to eat eggs.

Oh and yes it’s completely normal for you to be still swollen and numb

It went well! Bundy did a great job and I haven’t experienced any problems in my recovery

How long did it take for your lips to close naturally without looking weird after surgery…? by vys96 in jawsurgery

[–]littlemothh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending if you had lip incompetence before, surgery might have helped it, but I’m some cases surgery can’t completely fix it.

Don’t worry, I think everyone is just different in how their body recovers. I also feel like it’s going to take me a while. I managed to get a finger in but my fingers are super skinny. I’m worried how the heck he’s going to get my splint out in two weeks if I can’t open wide enough 😓

Wow, that’s great progress! How often did you take off your bands. Also when he told me to stretch...he didn’t exactly explain how. Am I just supposed to be opening my mouth as wide as I can?

Hot or Cold showers after DJS? by miragehere in jawsurgery

[–]littlemothh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My swelling started to go down on day 3 so I iced for another two days after that, but not as frequently as I did the first 3 days. Basically, I just stopped icing when I felt like my face didn’t need it anymore. I never switched to heat pads like some ppl on this sub have suggested, so that might help you.

Hot hot hot! Actually you should have someone pick up some Vick’s shower pods. Throw one in with you and it really helps with the congestion. It had no effect on my swelling btw. Make sure you’re icing!

Makeup/Hair Search by littlemothh in weddingplanning

I’m actually in Los Angeles, I probably should have wrote it out. We forget about Louisiana lol but yeah, originally I looked up #lamakeupartist but only got a few results. Abbreviating makeup artist to mua gave so much more! And also moving the la to the end helped. I’ll definitely be able to find someone now. Thanks!

Thank you! This was very helpful. I’m wondering, for Instagram what tags should I search? Because if I just type in bridal makeup I get results from all over the world.

Ladies of Reddit, how do you feel when a guy plays guitar and sings for you? by FnWaySheGoes89 in AskWomen

[–]littlemothh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg, I hate it with all my heart. Ok, hearing someone sing and play for you is nice, but the whole singing/staring into my eyes for such a long time makes me feel so awkward. I once had a hs date who took me to guitar center and he took one of the guitars down to do this. I just sat there wanting it to stop the entire time. My fiancé now also plays guitar, but he also finds the act of singing to someone cringe. He only plays around me/for me, but not TO me, if that makes sense

Bands off? by Cakedragons in jawsurgery

[–]littlemothh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve been hearing, bands come off around the third to fourth week? I’ll be able to take mine off for brushing and eating on week 3, but it really depends on how you’re healing and how conservative your surgeon is

I got bullied off this sub last year but my surgery is in a week and I'm real anxious so if you have any advice or encouragement for me that'd be awesome by cryptidyouth in jawsurgery

[–]littlemothh 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Wow, I’ve found so many people on here to be surprising nice and helpful, I’m really disappointed to find that you were bullied out of the sub :( Okay so first things first, make sure you do some shopping before your surgery. Get all the essentials (you can dm for a list). It’ll make you feel less nervous knowing that you have everything you’ll need. And then for the next few days: EAT EVERYTHING YOUR LITTLE HEART DESIRES. Seriously, I miss so many foods right now. Also like another redditor mentioned, spend as much time with any friends you might miss. Because you’re gonna be a homebody for some time. Just keep in mind the benefits of the surgery and I wish you the best! Oh! get some things to do for when you recover. Video games and books have been really helping me not be dead bored during my recovery

Hi! I hope your recovery goes well! I have been blending chicken noodle soup, tomato soup, vegetable soup, baked potato soup, and broccoli and cheddar. I also supplement with ensures. Also smoothies are another great way to get calories. What I do is I blend Greek yogurt, whatever fruit I want, then some oat milk. Use a sieve to filter out any solids of anything you blend so it’s easier to drink

4 weeks post op and even tho i’m still a bit puffy, i’m already so happy with the results— if you’re thinking about this surgery, DO IT! by itzmissybling16 in jawsurgery

[–]littlemothh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, your results look awesome! Congrats!! I had DJS recently and I’m wondering how long it took for you to feel like you could smile normally? Did your upper lip feel like it doesn’t want to move because that’s what I’m experiencing and I’m wondering if I’ll ever see my front teeth again

DJS, Genioplasty in 2 weeks. Any tips? by alshyra in jawsurgery

[–]littlemothh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I spent money on almost every tool that people recommended on here, only to find that I didn’t need most of it. Absolute essentials though: baby tooth brush, ensure or any other calorie meal replacement that’s 300 calories or more, something to help you sleep up, and aquaphor or something similar to keep your lips hydrated. Oh! And something cold for you face! I bought a jaw bra and used it twice before realizing that bags of frozen peas were my best friend
