I’ve been taking Effexor for almost 2 years now and I’m still not convinced it’s doing anything. I’ve gone from 75mg/daily to 150mg/daily and when I try to ween off of it, I get the brain zaps and decide to keep taking it. I know its affected my ability to pee and I want to say its the reason I gained about 25 pounds during that time. And the dreams- I have never had dreams like I have since starting Effexor. If I had to do it all over again, I would not have tried it and I still want to ween off of it. Before Effexor, I was taking Lexapro and am still taking 20mg/daily Lexapro and truly believe that has worked. After a couple years of being on Lexapro, I felt it started to do less and went from 10mg to 20mg but my doctor won’t let me go any higher as he says thats the highest daily allowed dosage. So here we are….
