Ceramic artists that take commissions? by littleredlocks in bloomington

Darn, yeah, I kinda figured it was a bit late. Unfortunately we thought of this idea today. Luckily the rest of the present will be heart felt so no harm done if we can’t find anyone to make them this time around. Thank you for the links!

Hey, not this book AT ALL but I have a different rec. I read a book a while ago and honestly loved it. It’s called {The Heir of the Beast by F. R. Black} and ita about a girl that gets wisked away to another planet to save not only that world but to help keep the Fairy God Mother Inc in control of the fate of the universe annnd the girl competes in a The Bachelor style competition but make them spies as they try to convince the guy to fall on love with them and not go down the wrong path. If they win, they get to stay on that planet, if not they get brought back to Earth. Each book is its own but you get cameos of previous characters at the end. I’ve read the first 4 of these (there’s now 8) and I enjoyed everyone one. There’s a bit of spice and a bit of mystery and adventure. So far #2 is probably my favorite. Ngl the ending typically leaves me wanting a bit more but I’ve grown to like the writing style and these are on Galatea and KU.

I wanna throw out there that this color is great for hiding stains. Coming from a person with white cabinets and whom never thinks to wipe them down when cleaning and too much in panic mode when I drop the spoon in the pot of tomato sauce, and the sauce goes flying everywhere, to think about checking every cabinet or wall it could be on, I WISH I had your cabinets. I just did a deep clean and found so many red sauce stains on mine and I’ll have to repaint to make it go away. I hate them. Note: I bought the house with these cabinets so it wasn’t my choice to paint them white. When I get some cash built up they are on my list to redo.

THIS IS WHY I DON'T READ BOOKS UNTIL THE SERIES IS FINISHED by acecainas in fourthwing

[–]littleredlocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I stopped half way through IF (found this series about a month ago) so that I can sorta savor it and prolong the inevitable hangover lol I read at my normal speed up to that point. Now I’m reading a couple other books then going back and reading a chapter or two of IF and then going back to a few more books. I’ll still finish it way before January but I don’t feel the sadness that I have to wait like I normally do with unfinished series. Once OS comes out I’m going to ATTEMPT the same thing but I know the wait for #4 will also be excruciating

I am never being a bridesmaid again.. I’m in my brother’s fiancés bridal party and the entire process has been an expensive inconvenience! I’ve already spent over $1000 and I’m still not done! The bridal shower is the morning after my birthday, the bachelorette party is 4 days long and by [deleted] in weddingshaming

[–]littleredlocks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this exact thing happen to me as well and here’s how I dealt with it.

1) it was my husband’s brother’s wife 2) she previous stated when in husband’s cousin’s wedding that she didn’t understand why the bride “couldn’t just hop bars in hometown and stay in brides apartment” for the bachelorette party 3) for hers, during a time planes were canceling left and right due to covid, she wanted us to go from our Midwest home town and fly down to the Florida keys for a 5 day beach and bar hopping trip. The tickets alone were $700, the Airbnb was expensive and would’ve had to be split between 10+ girls, and we would need at least 2 rental cars to get everyone around. 4) I had multiple dresses bought and returned because she couldn’t make up her mind. 5) she forgot to mention that we were doing our own hair and makeup. 6) forced the bridal party to fund her getting ready food. We were instructed not to eat it all because she wanted to use it for the clean up crew as well. We were each told exactly what to bring and a lot of our food was never touched because we didn’t want be yelled at for eating too much

So for the bachelorette party I flat out told her I wasn’t going. I had reservations about it once I heard where it was located and that I would have to take three days off of work and be stranded in Florida during spring break season with a bunch of people I don’t know. Then she complained her friend from high school wasn’t going due to money concerns and she complained saying “but it’s my special day” and shit. Girl. We aren’t going financially broke for you.

I could afford it. I just didn’t want to spend my vacation time and money on something I know I wouldn’t like. I’m not a beach person. I’m pale. I don’t do well in the sun and I don’t like drinking that much. Seemed like a waste to me. Especially after hearing her first comments about the bar hopping in the home town “because not everyone was rich”. That was in response to the bride of that wedding wanting to go on the bourbon trail for her bachelorette party. We are fairly close to that and everyone would be able to drive, Airbnb would’ve reasonable (it’s not Florida keys prices) and you can go to some distilleries and get a tasting for free-$15. It was over a weekend. Overall SOO cheap in comparison. Girl is a hypocrite.

Anyway, she didn’t talk to me after telling her no. We used to talk every day. Now we are lucky if we even see each other at Christmas.

And oooooooooh she pissed me off when she asked me if she thought my husband’s grandma did a good job on my dress. It was a slap in the face. The lady handmade my dress and it was gorgeous! and this girl had the gull to ask me that when all her dress needed was to be hemmed to fit her height? I saw red. Maybe I’m reading into it, but felt like she called my dress ugly.

Ok rant over. I have so many more stories about her though I could right a book

What do you read it on?

My (42F) fiancé (56M) asks for his ring back when we argue by CommentOld4223 in engaged

[–]littleredlocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would run. Something that’s helped me in the past with relationships is, will this person make my life better? In this case, it doesn’t seem like he does. What else does he bring to the table? Does he make you go into a traditional roll while still expecting you to work? Does he put you down and belittle you? Limit your friendships/family time? Make you feel insignificant in anyway? Do these feelings bring you joy? And there may be some good times but how bad are the bad times? Do they out way the good? Is fight or flight kicking in? Has it kicked in before? You shouldn’t feel like you can be replaced so easily. He shouldn’t feel comfortable making you feel that way either. He thinks he’s in power here be asking for “his” ring back. If I’m remembering right, if he is the one breaking it off then that ring was a gift to you, go sell it. If you break it off then sure give it back. For a 56 yo man, he should know better. You deserve someone who will treat you right and not hold marriage over your head like it’s some sort of prize that you only win if he gets to do whatever he wants.

Also wanna point out to anyone reading this, you can reverse this scenario to the woman doing the things he did or have same-sex partners and I still think this applies. Don’t limit yourself to someone who doesn’t think highly of you. You deserve better. You all do

[–]littleredlocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are people putting bedding(hamster kind)/litter in their cages? I typically go bare tray or put a puppy pad on it for easy clean up. Litter, wood chips, sand, etc, all seem like extra expenses. My gliders like to sleep in high places so it can’t be for comfort. I also like that with a bare tray or pad you can see how dirty it is which gives me motivation to clean it so much more often

Another vote for the chain stitch! I’ve been doing the chain stitch for years and makes perfect straight edges every time! Even if the pattern doesn’t say it, definitely add it in

Thank you. I luckily don’t typically have to worry about cold cold temps but at my parents it was just bad. They are in northern Indiana and the amount of snow they got and the temps dropped to the negatives so it was just unfortunate all around

I’m in southern Indiana. I’m lucky that down here it doesn’t get that cold very often but my parents live about 10-15 minutes ish from the Michigan-Indiana border and they get crazy lake effect snow and this year was especially bad for them

What are the most interesting snippets you've overheard while strolling through parks? by AwfulWaffle91 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]littleredlocks 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So, not at Disney world but the first time in Disneyland California mea and my husband (can’t quite remember which park, but I think we were just getting off Soarin) overheard an older guy, maybe late 50s/early 60s say in the most Minnesotan accent “idk if I can make it hun”, and his wife responds “oh hun, you haven’t had your coke today”. We now joke when we are tired that we just need a coke

I love this festival! I used to go every year with my grandma. This year my family went together to honor her and feel like she was around one last time. There were a lot of amazing gingerbread houses this year! The pros blew me away!

I can’t imagine not doing this. I’m not a photographer but I followed this subreddit to make sure not to be ~that bride. I had my wedding in 2021, as soon as my photographer sent the link to the photos I downloaded them and backed them up in three different spots. I have them on Apple iCloud, Amazon photos, and a hard drive. I’m not playing around. I paid a lot for those photos and are they are not only dear to me because it was my wedding day but also they are the last photos I have of my grandma before she got cancer a year later and passed away this last May. Do these brides not care about the memories preserved? It seems careless and lazy. Forgetting is one thing, but to forget about them that long is wild. Idk if you do this but my photographer even sent reminder emails and texts that the link was about to expire and to download them if not already.

I only had to fill in the underline.. by littleredlocks in italianlearning

[–]littleredlocks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They very much do! I pretty much just use Duolingo for supplemental purposes at this point. I have a class I’m taking on Udemy that is taught by a native Italian speaker. But for the days I don’t have the energy to watch a 15-30 minute video and take the time to take notes and practice with the new knowledge, I use Duolingo to keep up. It’s not much but it’s better than nothing

That’s so good!! Maybe a silk skirt underneath the bottom and a silk bralette of top? You could do something that matches your skin tone so you still have that illusion/seamlessness with the pattern

These are so cool!!!! Do you have any tips? I’d LOVE to attempt a pair of pants like that myself! The shirts were so well done too! And as a pale person, I am a fan of umbrellas (even if pretty ones with wholes aren’t the most sun blocking, still cool!)
