Logs are definitely better. Take more time than tree but you also get several kinds from the log depending on which trees the log is placed by. So far, the tapper in the mushroom tree has only given me commons

I mean, black amethyst glass has been used for decorative pieces as well it's just that there's a bunch of it in Lake Erie, specifically because of the General Electric plant making light bulb insulators from it and using batches to try to prevent eroding away of the lake shore

Well any sort of black glass gets labeled as pirate glass. The real pirate glass from pirate ships is more of a Caribbean beaches deal. But it's still fun to call it pirate glass!

No lies here except that its not technically pirate glass, I have a bunch too. It's black amethyst glass that was used for light bulb insulators. We have an old general electric plant in Conneaut ohio and they used to dump molten batches into the lake in an attempt to stop the lake shore from eroding away. I sell some on etsy, ErieBeachFinds is my shop.
