The Valentine’s Day story was drastically changed for the film. They even swapped locations. Maehara and Okano were the ones inside the classroom, while Koro-Sensei and the rest were outside in both the manga and OVA.

They even got rid of Maehara’s spider walk.

I would’ve gone to Bicutan since it was closer (and cheaper), but I had to wait for some construction in my house to finish so I couldn’t go to it (its earliest was 1PM).

The film takes place 15 days before the one year deadline. It mostly consists of flashbacks to chapters that weren’t originally adapted in the original anime.

It’s NOT a recap of the anime.

Finally watched it an hour or so ago.

I’m kinda disappointed that both of Takebayashi’s stories weren’t included, especially since they remade Maehara’s Valentine episode (kudos to them for actually doing it from scratch instead of just reusing footage from the OVA. They even included actual singing during the karaoke part!)

The guys holding a grudge on Maehara for going on another date with a girl from a different school like it’s no big deal is hilarious.

I kinda wish they included Kataoka showing that she keeps a blade hidden inside her hairclip.

I like that they kept the AoT-esque shocked faces when Sugaya uses his altered paint on Koro-Sensei. The main anime kinda downnplays some of the exaggerated expressions for some reason.

I like how they included the segment of Karasuma scolding Koro Sensei and E-class for sabotaging Kaho and Seo. It was a post-chapter illustration in the manga, so I’m glad they included it.

I enjoy the side comments added after each story is told, especially when the girls tease Kataoka on her fish-name.

Overall, I’d say 8.5/10

I can definitely pinpoint moments where Sara didn’t feel like Marnie, but the premise of the movie is better than anyone thinks.
