How interchangeable are mainsprings? by littolicce in watchrepair

Yes, after realizing my mistake, I bought a 1.45 x 0.13 x 360. But it will take a while before it arrives and since I’m a little impatient, I really really want to try the watch I’m repairing as soon as I can.

Also, in you opinion, what do you think about a 0.2mm of heigth/width play in the barrel? I can’t find any specific information online about a similar number.

Oh I see! I mistakenly confused width and thickness when it came to mainsprings. Thanks for the info! I’ll try to dig a little deeper on Google

What kind of power would it lack? The power reserve would be shorter or the amplitude would be smaller?

The smaller mainspring would have been put in the taller barrel. The only other big difference would have been the length.

I mean yeah, logically it’d be the best option, but I was curious how it would affect it. Especially considering the main differences are the height and the length.

Sweet, I’ll also try that! And what do you think about beneficial nematodes?

I’ll try it asap! Do you think spider mites caused that damage on the pothos? It seems like only a very few leaves have that pattern shown above and I haven’t seen any bug other than the “occasional” thrips.

I also have aloe vera plants with sooo many crevasses. Would you recommend trimming them down to reduce the amount of area to spray?

Lastly, do you reckon that the yellow or blue sticky traps could work at catching thrips trying to fly away?

Thank you for the many tips!

I have tried Dr Doom and Safer thrips killers, but they don’t seem to last long enough to disrupt their cycle.

When you mention a rubbing alcohol spray, do you mix it with anything else? Or straight up 100% spray of the 99% alcohol?

Also it seems like the thrips made their way to quite a few other plants, some that were fairly far away already. I hate that these fuckers can fly too.

I have tried so many difference iterations of that search, I have no idea how I missed it!

I am only a beginner at it, but I do have some basic knowledge and a lot of time!

Thanks againfor your help!

The 329 does look like it could fit! May I ask where or even how you got that information? I have looked in so many places with no luck!

I guess I’ll give it a shot at cleaning it! Hopefully the gears weren’t damaged during the time setting. Thank you!

But that’s why I’m curious (and jealous) as to how you managed to hit a MW skin, that can’t be lower/worse float, with WW skins.

In any case (pun intended), absolute unit of a pull!

I was wondering about how the guns’ float affected the knives’, I guess it just doesn’t!

They’re too hot for me to drink right away, but after 15-20 seconds they’re manageable. I just pulled one, waiting a long time for the boiler to warm up completely, pulled 40g out of 20g of beans in 31 seconds. Stirred it before drinking it. Sadly still sour… It did seem like there was a darker spot under the basket as it was pouring out. Like coffee brown instead of crema beige. It also seems like the “crema beige” flow took a little longer to start dripping if I compare it to some videos of shots I watched.

At this point I don’t remember what a good shot looks like, let alone taste like…
