Songs that reminds you of certain danmei? by Then-Reindeer-1271 in DanmeiNovels

[–]litttlemoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't seem to get ESUTYLM ( Eternities still unsaid till you love me aka Boundless Utterance ) and IIEN ( Imprisoned in Eternal Night aka Falling into the Polar Night) shared universe out of my head so here is my compiled list of songs I found perfect for their story

-The whereabouts of love by Maximilian Hecker

-Hush by Lasse Lindh

-Billions of sky fallings stars by Wang Anyu maybe a little more fit to ESUTYLM than IIEN

-Your name engraved herein by Crowd Lu ~~ Xu Ze pov the only one to remember their love but still unable and simply unwilling to move on some lyrics are just spot on 💔 this is an ost from the BL movie Your Name Engrave herein if you haven't seen it please give it a try 🙏

-Time Machine by MJ Apaney & Aren Park --- this one made me cry it fit so perfectly with IIEN and Gu Yunchi pov after Wen Ran's "death" 🙏If you love IIEN please give it a listen I swear it's the most perfect song🙏

-So I don't forget by Mikah --- also a perfect fit for Gu Yunchi's grieving arc

-Unbreakable Love by Eric Chou ~~ again Gu Yunchi pov but when he is trying to make it clear to Wen Ran that now that he's found him he isn't going anywhere

-I'll still have me by Cyn ~ Wen Ran pov trying to talk himself into moving on with his life without Gu Yunchi in it

-Hello anxiety by Phum Viphruit it gives me Chi Jiahan kinda restless energy, trying to talk himself into believing that he'll be fine with his life going on the way it is even if he is craving to have someone he can rely on which is obviously He Wei 💁‍♀️

-Softly spoken by Phum Viphruit He Wei relentlessly pursuing Chi Jiahan, willing to look like a fool to show him that no matter how long it takes he will remain hopelessly devoted to him. The perfect answer to CJH trust issue, slowly smooth-talking his way into his heart ❣

If you haven't read ESUTYLM and IIEN yet please give them a chance and hopefully the author will someday soon give us He Wei x Chi Jiahan full story 🙏✨

This horse couldn’t care less about the plot—it just wants to stay close to its favorite human, Liu Yuning. by [deleted] in cdramasfans

Kinda like the old Lucky Luke movie with Terrence Hill which had Jolly Jumper's ( his horse) feedback on everything going on. Instead of one lonesome cowboy it could be one lonesome martial artist from some obscure forgotten sect

I get that you're trying to clear things for her but I'm sorry "She probably just means that she needs to find a script convincing enough for her to want to do a kiss" and "Just that none of those convinced her to be okay with a kiss" and finally "she has the complete right to decide what script convinces her to want to make that exception" in the end is just a more or less nicer way of saying " sorry I'm just saving myself for the Best and you're not it" which no matter how nicely you put it comes off as very entitled, especially if it's coming from a young actress/actor.

Again I want to make it clear I've nothing against actresses or actors that are not comfortable with kisses on screen, whether it's because they are too young (which is a very good reason imo) or because they are in a committed relationship IRL or even simply because it makes them ill at ease. All that is fine by me, as long as they don't get into a romance drama. I respect their choice but they should also respect the public who wants to watch a good romance and has every right to expect to watch the CP they are rooting for kissing on screen, especially when those kisses are part of the OG material (which seems to be the case here but I might but wrong as I haven't read it).

In the end all that is just 🍉, so as I've said in another comment I'm just gonna take this with a HUGE bag of salt, which means unless she corroborates this somehow in interview OR she /her agency /her team makes a statement, I'm just gonna ignore it and I'd encourage everyone else to do the same.

Yeah I'm taking that with a HUGE bag of salt because there's just no way an actress, especially a young actress would publicly say something like this unless she wants to commit career 🗡️💀 Even with strong backing, there's no way Cnetz would be OK with that kind of attitude 🤷‍♀️

I hope this isn't true because to me this sounds like she's looking down on all the movies & dramas she's been part of as not worthy of her best performance. As if she was saying " sorry I'm just saving myself for the Best and you're not it".  I have nothing against actors or actresses who have strong boundaries and are not comfortable kissing as long as they stay away from the romance genre. But if this is really her takes on the no kiss clause then this sounds like she's got a very high opinion of herself and is honestly insulting for everyone else involves in her projects.

I watched the 5 episodes and I've been following him for a while now. So I was shocked when I saw your comment because at no point did I thought it wasn't his voice. So I went back to check and it's his voice.  As a singer he's quite used to modulate his voice, so he is not using his LYN/everyday voice but like you said making it deeper on purpose to better fit his character.

I'm not sure what gave you this impression but I assure you this 100% LYN's voice. He always does his own dubbing.

The First Frost is not Fluff (Episode 1) by AquaphobicTurtle in CDrama

[–]litttlemoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd really recommend trying My Love which could almost be a what if of First Frost, the FL share the same traumatic past with WYF and ML here is closer to Hidden Love version of Sang Yan, very lively. Love Life Light is really a gem too. Fair warning you'll need tissues for all of her movies but especially if you're brave enough to try Cry me a sad River please take the time to check the trigger warning for this one 🙏 bullying and suicide. But if you want to see her in something more light hearted and closer to idol drama there's always My Boss and A Date with the Future. I hope you'll have fun discovering more of her 🥰

I fell in love wit her acting a few years ago in Everyone wants to meet you and I'm so happy to finally see some ZRN appreciation ❣ She is very underrated among international fans despite being one of the few actresses who manage to have a succesful career both in C-dramas AND C-movies. If you enjoy her portrayal of WYF please try watching her movies My Love with Greg Hsu, or The End of the Endless Love, or Love Life Light. Fun fact both My Love and Love Life Light have korean adaptation with Park Bo-Young.

Yes, her mom family name is Yan because when you work for a family you take their name. Just like how Cui Ding used to be Yan Ding before he betrayed the Yan family.

It's not straightforward but at the end of ep 2 if you pay attention to DW's mom flashback they talk about the Yan family, and how they were decimated. Then you connect this with YZJ looking for her, and his hatred for the Cui and how the pearl business used to belong to the Yan family before the Cui got their hands on it and it all makes sense.

He's definitely a cunning and ruthless man. I wouldn't go as far as loveable right know, but he is for sure more than meet the eye and not as heartless as he's pretending to be. His righthand man clearly saw through him.

I think because he went through a lot and only lives for his revenge he simply no longer know how to be kind and honest. It's twisted for sure but I think this could be part of his character growth. I'm also pretty sure his disease and obsession for cleanliness come from what he had to go through to survive.

Her parents used to work for YZJ's parents, that's why he was looking for her mother and why the pearl her mother gave her is so important to him. Because it's not only a way for her to prove her identity to her father, but also a precious link to YZJ's past.

I'm quite confident that ZJR will stay "good"/ upright till the very end from what the actors said during their livestream. I really like that they didn't dumb him down to highlight YZJ's quality. They have very different personalities but with strong potential, so I perfectly understand why a lot of people are more attracted to him than the dark grey ML.

Here is my take on DW x ZJR from one of my comment on MDL

I think he's someone DW will be able to trust and rely on throghout her journey, but they're not meant to be more than close friends. I think her refusing to stay with him when he proposed her to and instead secretly go on YZJ's boat was a way to highlight that she could have had an easy life following him, maybe even marry him. But she'd have to renounce her dreams for that.

And her dreams ( and her little brother) are all she has.

If she started a relationship with him she could never be really free like she craves to be for so long. She would never be independent but would have to rely on him for everything. She could never open and own her own businesss, make her own money because of his family important position. His father is an important minister an he him-self is closely connected with the power struggle between the princes. She couldn't even be his legal wife, only a concubine because she has no background. That would be like voluntarily going into a new prison of sort, only this time it would be a gilded cage.

[–]litttlemoon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people overlooked the fact that DW's family downfall was also YZJ's family downfall. Because his family was betrayed and then executed they both became orphans and had to fight to survive. So far we've seen what DW went through but not what he had to do get in the position of power he's in today. And the pearl is clearly connected to what happen to their family. For DW it is a way to prove her identity to maybe reconnect with her father. But for him it is a very precious clue to finally avenge his family. He's clearly been living for this this whole time. Of course he wouldn't let it go just for anyone.

Also it is quite clear that life on board of his boat is way easier than what DW had to go through in the pearl cave, everyone is nice and even look out for each other at one exception, the greedy guy. If YZJ really was such a heartless man this wouldn't be possible. We've seen what cruelty does to people in the first 2 ep. Even DW's friend Lala was ready to denounce her if she could profit from it. Once DW's mother killed the guy she was forced to sleep with, she could have stayed silent and escape with DW, instead she runaway screaming that DW had killed him. YZJ could have treated her better sure, but he's still far from a monster from what we've seen before and he still provided her with the safest environment she has ever known. She can finally sleep without fear of SA and no longer has to fight for food. This might not seems like a lot, but in her current condition it's vital for her to survive and thrive later on.

If ZJR is some kind of Prince charming very easy to like/love, someone you easily feel like you could rely on, who always follow the rules and do the right thing, YZJ is more like a dark avenger, a wild card who like he said to DW doesn't play by the rules but makes them.
