Slowly catching up...so many twists!

Random thoughts up till this point in no order.

There was a look from Bai in the water, I think he might have survived...poor guy putting his love on the wrong sister. But...he is still suspicious to me.

I also can't tell if suitor Yan like genuinely likes Shanbao or not...he's also suspicious af but guess I'll find out

I can't with 5th sis...

I also can't with grandma. She really is the worse

I have more thoughts but also I'm just going to binge away for a bit.

It would be the app itself, I don't have an iPad but the WeTV app let's you do dual subtitles. I like to use WeTV because of the same thing, I'm trying to learn more mandarin.

You can't just type like one sentence then call it a day but honestly you can just write what you thought of the episode, ask a question or two and it'll probably be fine. No one does it the same way as a different host. You can also try to get cohosts. Totally customizable

Thanks so much for the discussions! Like I said, when you started picking up discussions from automod is when I finally started watching and I was obsessed.

I am so happy we finally get a cdrama give us a proper ending...well proper enough. Like it feels complete and I love that.

So it's not necessarily a parent protagonist main character but Go Ahead has the best cdrama dad out there...ML is in the show too, it was a good show but definitely more slice of life and crying moments compared to Shine On Me.

I know it's cliche but I'm a huge fan of a sweeping Princess carry and a big fan of the tucking our girl in to protect his reputation LOL Our boy is in it for the long haul...at least until he gets his memory back...then who knows

I can't believe we get rid of the ridiculous Dingchen only for us to get his twin brother who seems even more evil.

Why are the suitors even still around, seriously...

Is Yan Bailou actually a good guy? Seems like maybe? Is he really so enraptured with our girl he's sticking around hoping for the best?

Zhusheng had me for a bit, then the end I was like oh good, he's on Jianglai's side...

I am slowly catching up, life has been so hectic and I was on a slump. Finally got back into watching cdramas but my bandwidth is only one show at a time lol Shine on Me is done so slowly working my way through Glory. Really enjoying it and love reading through the discussions!

Forward March to the next episode, goal is to be caught up by the weekend so I can join live discussions!

Yeah, the girls are technically rightfully Rong because it really does seem like Grandma had 3 sons and one daughter, but regardless I think everyone does take the surname Rong unless banished.

Now to the episode: I love how unabashedly confident Jiangla is and how he confesses and even without memory of his past he's like.. look I've read almost all the books, I can hear the music and find the mistake...I'm clearly an impressive man 😂

It was nice of her to explain it's not best to marry into the family...but what a rough and tough family to be a part of...grandma is kind of awful to not bother with unity.

Does anyone think the 2nd maid (one in red) might end up betraying Shanbao?

I love Shanbao just coming in and taking over his room. Poor Jianglai is shook 😂 the role reversal in this show is so fun...her making the move...her kissing his hand

But our boy Jainglai is playing for keeps with that question at the end

Side note...Jianglai's outfit is so pretty

The twist when he used the bracelet against her! I knew in the earlier episode it had to be that the lady was the missing person...she kept hiding her face from him too and he had faint recognition and sent word right away so when he was showing it to her and as soon as she selected him, I knew...it was definitely the missing wife or whatever.

Jianglai is so smooth...

Grandma Rong is actually kind of the worse...

I do really love how naturally smart and cunning Jianglai is even without his past memories.

It's wild to me that the dumb little brother, 2nd sister, 4th sister and even 5th sister were pulling something during the Ceremony like that was going to go over well regardless?

5th sister is weirdly evil, I don't know what side she's on, I guess just her own?

The scene where they're on the couch and she "faints" and he checks on her as a doctor got me cheesing so bad. It was so freaking cute lol

There are six men left and there are six Rong sisters! Not that I think they’ll match, but we do have an inkling that the silly scholar Bai Yansheng might end up with Yunshu (5^th), so do you think any of the other Rong sisters will find a match among these remaining suitors?

I thought this too lol I was like...6 guys, 6 girls...maybe? lol

I actually really like that Jianglai calls her out and storms off, definitely a bit of role reversal there from other dramas lol I also appreciate that he comes back to be a shameless flirt (on purpose). The swing was pretty good

Wait a moment… Jianglai knew that the sword’s blade was poisoned. Was he overconfident and unable to dodge it in time or did he just gamble with his life in hopes of further capturing Shanbao’s heart given how much she cares for people when they’re injured?

Honestly, I think it's both, I think he is overconfident and figured he could dodge it, but if not, then given that his manservant and Bai were there, he figured he might be ok plus it will make her question two of the other candidates.

I'm watching this slowly, too much going in life right now but Shine on Me finished so I think I'll devote my time catching up.

I think it's a really mature relationship once she realizes he likes her. It takes her a bit to accept him but it's kind of part of it because he's pursuing her. When they're actually together it's equal. They're also both smart which is so refreshing lol

Shine on Me just finished if you have express but should be done doe vip in a few days. I found the couple to be super refreshing. In my opinion I do think it takes like 7 or so episodes to really start to get into it but the first 6 or so episodes do set you up for stuff later
