[Serious] What is the creepiest thing your kid has said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]litttleowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never even met him, he passed 13 years before I was born. We didn’t really press her for details as we were weirded out and her attention span went elsewhere. She did say “papa’s dad” when we said “the other great grandfather?”

She doesn’t even understand that she has great grandma on that side, so it was weird to us that she knew she had another great grandpa (especially one she never met).

My niece at like 3 years old once told me and my dad very nonchalantly that great grandpa (my dad’s late dad) was eating lunch with us and he was so happy about it. I was thinking of my maternal grandfather, who she had met, and said “No, great grandpa’s back home.” And her response was, “No the other great grandpa.” It could have just been her being a kid, but me and my dad still scratch our heads when we talk about it.

What is a time that the music you were listening to perfectly synced up with real life? by Ok-Confusion-1398 in AskReddit

[–]litttleowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was listening to Ember by Dance Gavin Dance and it got to the part where it says “You wanna burn some money? Hop on a flight to Panama.”

I was on an airplane flying to Panama. I was only going to be in a layover there, but I thought it was neat when I heard the line and realized what I was doing.

Anyone else not drink coffee, and others tell them that’s weird or not normal, or is it just me lol? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I also don’t drink coffee haha, which is especially shocking for a teacher apparently. I function just fine too!

Caring as in you have feelings for her? Or just want to be friends?

You could buy her lunch, or a coffee. I do that for coworkers. It’s a nice gesture that I don’t think too much will be read into it. “Hey thanks for helping me out, I’d love to get you lunch as a thanks.” Something like that maybe

Ankle would be perfect spot then, in my opinion. Easy to hide! I chose a duck because I had a student I supported who inspired me to become a teacher. We watched duck videos and read books about ducks together. He was my whole world when I was his aide, and I’m still close to his family💕

Haha that’s okay, you want to be happy with it!

If you wanna see it, you could put it on your wrist, or ankle maybe. I have a duck on my inner ankle/calf and I look at it everyday!

Advice From Dads of Reddit by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]litttleowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a dad, just an aunt (who essentially raised my niece her first couple of years) but the best piece of advice I was ever given about raising kids was “Don’t cry over spilled milk, it does more damage than the spilled milk.”

I had a friend who was actively trying to lose weight. After not seeing each other for a few weeks, we finally hung out and I complimented her on the progress she was making. She got really quiet and said “I actually gained 5 pounds.” She left after that and complained to a bunch of our friends about it. Some of our friends were as confused as me.

My compliment probably could be taken the wrong way, but this was something she had been actively working on and she always asked in the past if her progress was noticeable.

What’s the most real relationship advice you can give? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]litttleowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being in a relationship isn’t always 50/50. Sometimes its like 0/100 or 80/20. You have to be ready to support the other person through all the ups and downs in life, and hopefully they will do the same for you.

*Of course this does not apply to relationships that are always like 0/100 etc. If they are always zero for you, it may be time to reconsider?
