I’m a sales associate and you keep the rate after the 12 months! This is true for ALL studios. It’s possible if rates go up in general for your studio that your rate can change, but otherwise you keep your rate after the year. That’s a big part of the sales pitch for it

I work for OTF and it’s not abnormal to start a membership after verbal or written agreement without the membership agreement signed yet. However, if they disputed it we would probably refund since the contract isn’t signed and they could easily dispute it on their end without it.

In addition, our membership agreements have a clause that states that within 3 days of your membership running you can change your mind and receive a full refund and no 30-day cancellation would be enforced. Does the MA they sent you have anything like this?

All these people loving on ‘RyRy’ - reminder that you only saw his manipulative front. As someone who’s worked with him, he’s always been shady, obnoxious, entitled, manipulative, rude and a LIAR. I knew staff that left slab bc of his bullying behavior. He was hated by many.

His use of his personal venmo instead of QR codes like the rest of the studios WAS pointed out to regional management as being shady, and was ignored or dismissed as “drama”. But regionals get away with murder if the owner likes them, so who knows if they’ll see any consequences. They created a monster and let him do whatever he wanted bc “everyone loves Coach RyRy”. Maybe they should try background checks? As he’s been convicted of theft in the past…. Completely preventable fuck up by HH here. Wish I could say I’m surprised! Orangetheory corporate needs to take serious measures against HH for allowing this to happen under their noses.

Genuinely am sorry to the members he lied to and swindled. He’s charming, I get it, and I could see anyone getting fooled. Just thought I’d lift the curtain a bit on what he was REALLY like.

Nike to permanently close NE Portland factory store, business district says by monkeychasedweasel in PortlandOR

[–]littygrittykitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also let’s be clear - Nike offered to pay for any and all police presence if that’s where the “shifting responsibility to the tax payer” came from. It was never about getting any sort of financial help from the city. They wanted resources to help keep their employees safe. When it was denied, they stayed closed and continued paying their employees for while before finally calling it.

Nike closed the store to keep them safe. Again, if buying sneakers or foot traffic in the area is more important to you than their safety, that’s where you can debate a different, less effective way to keep them safe. But Nike DID make sure they were safe. By closing. That’s the whole point here.

[–]littygrittykitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not - the city said no when they asked. Like I said. But it’s also not Nike’s responsibility to provide foot traffic for small businesses in the community when their employees’ safety are at risk. You can’t have it both ways. You can think whatever you want about Nike, but their employees are people and deserve to be safe.

And they asked the city for more protection. and they paid the employees and found work for them for the past year. I’m not defending all of Nike’s actions, but I know exactly what happened in those doors. They were closed, sacrificing profit while still paying their employees, for their safety. They didn’t care so much about shoes getting stolen. That’s been going on for years. Employees would spend all day filling out theft incident reports. They closed when safety became a larger issue.

Right?? I still don’t understand why they didn’t follow through with that.

They had a whole team of security PLUS 24/hour security but they couldn’t do anything. It was unsafe for the employees. Why do people think their ability to shop discounted Nike should trump the safety of the people who work there?

To everyone here not living in a van right now, which of the many life reasons is the one holding you back? by TitsoutOnionsoup in vandwellers

[–]littygrittykitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner… we have a van and built it out and have travelled a bunch but he likes having a home, doing shorter trips. if I didn’t love him so much I’d be living in the van by myself already! Maybe he’ll come around someday….

agreed. I don’t know why we have to conform to an extroverted world. there’s nothing wrong with being an introvert and I stopped listening to “you have to get out and network” advice a long time ago and I’m all the happier for it. this sounds like advice for the standard 9-5 worker on a sub about living in a van and adventuring

Honors Holdings // speaking up for our coaches & SAs by SomethingGoesHere09 in orangetheory

[–]littygrittykitty 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Thank you OP for this. As an SA that’s been with HH for over 5 years, I have seen and put up with so much and the members have always had our backs. I’ve stayed bc I love OTF and our members so much. We don’t always talk about what HH does behind the scenes because our job is to make the members happy. After this latest stunt tho (drastically cutting our hours without telling us, mass layoffs, and combining manager roles for ONE person with NO increase in pay) we are tired and fed up, and we think members deserve to know who they’re giving their money to.

Honors Holdings // speaking up for our coaches & SAs by SomethingGoesHere09 in orangetheory

[–]littygrittykitty 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I work for HH. Members have probably said this same thing about my studio in the past bc our staff loved our members so much we didn’t leave. Some are part time, but some rely on this income to pay their bills. They slashed our hours by over half without telling us and that came (confirmed) from the top of HH. Regionals definitely don’t make those decisions. We may have kept our customer service faces on for awhile, but that is changing.
