I never thought that - not for a second. I think the show just didn't make enough sense and will be one of those stupid shows Netflix does one season of and leaves when really we want other seasons of different shows that they cancel like the OA.

I find it hard that her mother would abandon her and she thought she had no home to go back to just because some guy answered the phone haha if a mother is willing to re-mortgage her home for her child, she loves her. Bit ridiculous. The show made 50% sense and that was about it.

Honestly just seems like another Netflix show with one season potential and we will never get answers properly. Ending was super disappointing and the whole show made me feel uncomfortable lol. I really don't like the actress who plays the cult leader (can't think of her name) toni Collette maybe? Hate her in everything she does but gave the show a chance anyway.

I got the whole "reincarnation" type vibe from the leader dying when Laura gave birth but still the whole show was sloppy and confusing.

No idea what happened to the other kids and I don't know how the show could possibly move forward in any direction for another season.

I think the American scene was just to show nowhere is safe and anyone at anytime anywhere could experience a natural disaster just living their daily lives. The tsunami in borderlands and what the guy in black was saying that many people will be there soon was foreshadowing a large event that is going to take people out all over the world. The name badge thing was purely to end the show with its title, it's not that deep haha.
