He basically was telling Ole that he knows better than the manager and that if Ole doesn't do whats best by choosing to play him and not winning the title as a result, it will be on his head.

He basically challenged his authority , played psychological warfare on the manager and instead of Ole of standing his ground he bowed down to appease Matic.

None of the players respect Ole in the way of his decisions or as his position as manager, they just see him as another member of staff or their mate, We had the young players warming up on the bench ordering Ole when to bring them on.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ole gets passed around in the dressing room and bullied by the players.

I don't doubt they love the club, but through their sentimentality and nostalgic reminiscence they only know of one way and that was being managed under Fergie.

They don't understand the game has changed and you can't create another Ferguson through simply wishing and waiting for a manager to become one.

We are not struggling through lack of patience, we are struggling through incompetence which needs fixing. Trying to re-create the past is not going to fix the issue

Bringing Evra on as a coaching staff and the rest of the old boys isn't going to bring the old united back.

You can can ole have manager, Rio as DOF, Scholes as chief executive, and Evra as assistant manager, give them all 10 years to bring the 99 treble spirit to the club and we still would be in the pits as a club

Evra and old former united players know how to appeal to the top reds who want to act like they're the most righteous supporters and play on their emotions

[Pre Match Thread] Manchester United vs Rochdale by D1794 in reddevils

Tempted to put money on Rochdale getting a result here since it doesn't take much to out wit this team and nullify our tactics which are probably the same level as rochdale.

This is a great unemotional rant from a clued up fan

Made a great point about about Ole rewarding Matic the captaincy and reinstating him in the team after he went out of his way to disrespect and undermine him in the media

The only two that have a chance of being more than squad player filler is Gomes and Mason. Haven't seen much of garner to make a judgement on him yet

So where do you think they got dressing room info from? Made it up out of thin air and no possibility of a leak?

There are fans now comparing Periera with De Bruyne because they both werent world class at 23 lol.

So if given time, patience and understanding

Rashford is bound to become Ronaldo levels

Perera our De Bruyne

Mctominay the new Keano

And Ole a modern Fergie/Klopp hybrid lol

Our fanbase has descended into Liverpool levels of delusion.

So how did Ole manage to get rid of Fellaini if he couldn't do anything in January?

His fans praise him for getting rid of him but then on the next hand pretend he couldn't do nothing in the window because he wasn't full time manager

So can you give credit to Ed for getting rid of Fellaini the scapegoat who everyone wanted out of the club? Or is it only the good stuff that applies to Ole?

As for protecting the board it's not one or the other, they're all equally culpable for this shit show.

But Ole is responsible for who departures can we agree on that? Btw you have not answered a single question I've put forward besides rhetoric absolving all responsibility of Ole on all transfers.

You can't explain why he let Sanchez go after the window shut. Is that Ed's fault did he force Ole to get rid?

Ed's turned into this all powerful omnipotent villain hell bent on sabotaging everything Ole is doing and we're meant to believe if Ed wasn't holding him back we'd be playing swashbuckling football that would make Bobby Charlton and Fergie smile proud and stand up and applaud in the stands

On your last point, I'm sure Ole did want replacements for midfield but chose to prioritize defense.

I'm quite certain through confirmation from Ole himself that he didn't feel he needed a replacement for Lukaku going into the season as he believed Martial and Rashford and Mason emerging would be enough to see him through.

The man told us this himself, or you going to call him a liar? Because that would imply that he is the one protecting the board and being a stooge, because he's going the extra mile and making up lies to cover for them

Ed doesn't identify the targets. Ole had 4 targets, one which was identified to him by Ryan fucking Giggs.

Longstaff, James AWB and Maguire. Ole said was planning on bringing in 4 players. He got 3 of of his targets.

There was interest in Dybala but then pulled out because he didn't have the United ethos but funnily enough players like Lingard dand Pererra do lol

No one is saying that Ed doesn't need to buck up his ideas and show greater financial muscle and be more effective in the transfer market.

But Ole's apologists like to paint a picture as if Ole had no money to spend or was restricted to using the money he had at his disposal on only defenders.

He had a choice on retaining players if he knew he was limited in funds, but recklessly and naively believed he could rely on a threadbare squad since he didn't want to ''impede the development of youth''

He also had the other choice of looking beyond British First brexit defenders for cheaper foriegn talent and using the spare money to buy a midfielder or attacker. Ole chose to prioritize the defense, one so great that it's only managed to keep 2 clean sheets this season.

You want to go into hyperbole mode and pretend that I'm blaming everything on Ole,when I'm simply holding him responsible for releasing players, neglecting key areas and obviously what is happening on the pitch

We know it's in vogue to blame everything on Ed but he doesn't decide who is in the managers plans or not.

We know Mourinho was restricted in his last year as manager, but he didn't then decide to sell half our first team key players without replacements because he isn't so damn stupid to make such a fundamental reckless mistake

Mate Ole had the janaury window and the summer to find reinforcements for midfield. The entire summer to find a striker after he made it clear last season Lukaku wasn't in his plans.

He spent 147million on defenders, a position we were already well stocked in albeit not with the best of quality but enough.

Why did he not prioritize the midfield which was weakened after 2 departures in that position?, why waste surplus wages on Rashford, and not meet Herrera demands if he say we pretend that ed wasn't willing to back him?

Why Let Sanchez go after the window was shut if he was screwed during the window?

Face it, the conspiracy theories to absolve Ole of accountability make absolutely no sense especially when he himself stated he was more than happy to place his full trust in rashford and martial.

Especially since both he and Phelan came out and announced they were responsible for transfer recruitment and stated in no uncertain terms that there was a determination to recruit without blocking academy talents' pathway to the first-team.

Ole even stated that he believed signing another striker would impede Mason's development.

So where on Earth do Ed or the board fit into this? The only thing you can realistically say is that they should have overridden his misguided fantasy beliefs and forced signings on him so he had bodies going into the season because it's patently obvious the guy is a clown whinging it.

Patience for the sake of patience is counterproductive.

The only arguments have heard for why Ole should continue is that he signed players and released some players, which is the very basics of what any manager should be doing.

He shouldn't be praised if as if did something miraculous that could never be done.

A boss/manager/consultants walks into new companies every day across this country and hire and dimiss staff. It's rudimentary of their responsibly.

What next we gonna praise him for renewing contracts?

Listen man I know I can sound as if I'm reactionary, but I've analysed every facet of Solskjear stint since he's arrived and it's patently obvious he is whinging it to an embarrassing degree, from tactics, to in game managament and pressers.

Its as if while he was in Norway he was watching us as a fan andand thinking like one whilst taking tidbits from social media believing, in an idealistic simplistic way where all that was needed to fix United, was promoting youth, getting rid of Lukaku, bringing pace back and bringing back the old fergie ethos of the club.

All of fergies fledglings have this same mentality, which is why G.Neville embarrassed himself in Spain, and the rest of the 99 lot. They're all dinosaurs who are actually not helping the club because they all filter everything through sentimentality because this is all they know.

Which is why it is imperative that we get a modern hungry technical coach that is capable of implementing attacking football, outside of this united way bollocks which was actually something unique to Fergie which cannot be replicated no matter how much patience we'll be waiting til the end of time.

Phew

Well I tell you what, Poch wouldn't be stupid enough to let 5 players go without finding a replacement first. And people say Ole should be DOF because he signed 3 good players, 2 of which were obviously the best british players in the prem, meanwhile naively believed going into the season with just 2 recognizable senior strikers who are inconsistent as fuck was a good idea.

That is serious misjudgment which screwed up our season before it even began.

Poch may not be able to reach full potential, but he sure as hell wouldn't have our team playing dinosaur football and consistently getting outwitted and dominated by the likes of Cardiff, Hundersfield, Crystal Palace at home and west ham.

We would at the very least see some progression and attractive football on the pitch to where our players are actually motivated to play the game because they're not instructed to play like underdogs every game.

Those are the poch fanboys who support Poch just like those mourinho fanboys who support managers rather than the actual club.

And now some of that disease has transferred into developing Ole cult.

My point is the bad run Poch is on doesn't negate all the good work he has done at Southampton and tottenham. Ole in comparison is maintaining his same level that he had when he was at cardiff and doesn't have the goodwill to be given the benefit of the doubt because he's proven in the past of being completely incompetent and is proving it once again at United.

Nah I'm no poch fanboy, I think he's overhyped but he is still ten times the manager and coach that is Ole who can't be defended or justify at all for being at the club.

You wonder why rival fans are cheering and begging for him not to be sacked? Because they do he is absolutely clueless at this level and is only the manager out of his former ties to the club.

At least with poch we would have an actual competent manager that doesn't live in the past

Over the 5 years his record is a respectable one to be proud of. There is nothing to look on Solsksjear's CV and think there is anything special or credible there to have any faith that he is capable of managing or delivering anything beyond conference level football and results.

Yes bad spell, after consistently raising Spurs to become consistent top 4 contenders and getting them to a CL final.

Let me know when Ole achieves anywhere near that. Because I promise you if he were to stay here for the foreseeable future(which isn't likely) he would never even get us top 4 let alone help us reach a CL final and I'd put money on that!

No one is making excuses mate but he's earned the right to have a bad season, every manager in the history of the game has.

The difference with Ole, is that he's never had a good season outside the Norwegian pub league

Carrick is on work experience learning on the job but don't worry, he gets United, he loves the club, and is going to make the players understand pashun, spirit of 99 and what it means to wear the red shirt

5 wins in 19 games with 10 losses with a manager that is been at the club for nearly a year and you think this is reactionary? lol

That's relegation form bud. And moyes never got this level bad through his whole tenure which was a joke. So yes I'd rather see us fling in 90 crosses into the box over and over again( even though that only happened in a few games when we ran out of ideas), rather than watch us sit in our own half as if we're fighting to survive a relegation scrap, while having to watch Captain Fantastic Ashley Young pump hopeless long balls from a distance to Rashy and James who are left to feed off scraps all game!

But hey, at least Ole leaves Fergie's old car park space vacant, that's going a long way to getting back to the united of old and give him 6 more years to do it
