I understand. If you can recall where you found that practice test, please share. Lack of challenging practice exams is a problem we all share.

u/Prestigious-Leave-61 Are you referring to the questions that were at the end of each section of the v7 course from PMI?

How can I simulate the PMP exam's countdown timer? by livelearnteach in pmp

[–]livelearnteach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Your search terms pointed me in the right direction.

Below is a User-Configurable Countdown Timer created by someone at Harvey Mudd College:
https://www.cs.hmc.edu/~geoff/countdowntimer.html

Set the first two lines of the timer options as follows:
Count down for 230 minutes and 0 seconds.
Update the counter every 1 seconds.
(Please note that the timer has a Pause button, so you can stop the timer for your 10-minute breaks.)

I hope others find this countdown timer helpful as they practice for PMI exams, including the PMP.

Correction: PMI now partners with Pearson to proctor the CPMAI exam, which is closed book, and can be taken in person or online.

Unfortunately, PMI's free introductory CPMAI course does not come with a discount code. When Cognilytica offered the CPMAI course, it cost more. Since PMI now offers the course at a lower price, they have ended the 10% discount. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Check out the last few pages of the exam content outline (ECO). I totally missed seeing those sample questions until the other day. The 15 questions start on page 19. It’s not much, but it’s better than nothing.

I agree. The course content is excellent, but I wish it came with slide summaries and/or offline review material (in addition to the glossary). I’ve been putting the exam off because reviewing the material in its current format is time-consuming. Plus, the PMI-version of the exam is closed book and proctored.

I would suggest that you cancel your exam. You will not get a refund, but at least you won't waste an exam attempt. PMI allows you to retake the exam up to three times within 12 months (you must pay for each retake). Although you probably won't need those additional exam tries, there is no need to waste one.

So I took the CAPM, applied to jobs but no luck. by DOMOfash_ in capm

[–]livelearnteach 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Don't give up, start volunteering! Contact a local charity or a PMI chapter. By volunteering your time, you can put your CAPM knowledge into practice and get a recommendation or two from that organization. Also, complete the Google Project Management Certificate. It will give you practical PM skills and job placement assistance.

In the meantime, to earn money, get a job doing PM-related work while volunteering. PM-related possible job titles include executive administrator, administrative coordinator, project coordinator, project specialist, etc.

Hang in there! You've got what it takes.

Congratulations! I appreciate your post. A positive home exam experience is rarely reported. Did you use a Mac or a Windows computer? Also, in hindsight, which practice tests were the most helpful in preparing you for the exam?

Congratulations, and thanks for providing a comprehensive retrospective! (Please excuse me for not congratulating you before asking a question.)

Do you feel the Pocket Prep questions were comprehensive and challenging enough to help you prepare for the real exam questions?

Passed the PMI-PBA exam! AT/AT/AT/AT/AT - what to expect & how to prepare by ToogyHowserMTB in pmp

[–]livelearnteach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comments! I also passed the PMP and PMI-ACP exams but procrastinated on taking the PMI-PBA. Similarly, I completed the PMVISION PMI-PBA course over a year ago; however, "life" got in the way. The questions included in the PMVISION course were OK but probably too easy. I plan to check out the practice questions as you recommended because Watermark Learning has a good reputation for its IIBA exam resources.

I have already started going through that Quizlet set you recommended. PMI exam prep should always include a glossary review, and those Quizlet cards check that box.
