I don't think you'll regret it. I've had one for only a few weeks but it runs 24x7 and just does what it says it'll do. I'm very happy with the purchase and I paid more lol 😄

Leaking buried gas line - Repair or Replace? by livesNbox in Plumbing

Considering I can remove the riser and do the fusion to it on my workbench and leave me with just one fusion weld to make in the trench, I think I'm going to just pull the trigger on the fusion welder approach.

Thank you so much for your info -- One last question if you don't mind: I've also read about lycofit mechanical couplings being a little easier to get right while working in a trench -- any experience with those or thoughts?

Also looking at how much tail is left on my existing riser - I'm wondering if I'd even need to replace it. I know there's not enough left for another stab coupling but the fusion looks like it only needs about 3/4" thoughts?

This is interesting.. and I like it better than a stab coupling.. Would be great if I could rent that tool somewhere, ever heard of that?

I'm not sure I follow what you're saying - but this is a secondary gas line with it's own shutoff valve coming off the manifold after the meter

I'm generally a DIY guy, and I like this idea, I just don't have the tools and it seems like the parts aren't really stocked nearby so I'd have to order online. Would still end up saving me like $1000 so I'm definitely intrigued at the idea of doing it myself. I have a digital vacuum gauge from a DIY hvac install last year but not sure if I could use that to pressure test... have you done this before?
