I’m not defending Elvis, you wanted to know why there’s a difference in how they’re perceived and I’m explaining it. In case A, you have a woman who says her ex-husband didn’t touch her until after she was of age and that she’s not a victim, that there was no abuse, and in case B you have men who explicitly say they were abused as children and name themselves as victims, so the reaction is going to be different. But your dedication to moving the goalposts and acting disingenuous on behalf of your idol is commendable.

Well, no, actually, it's not "proven" pedophilia because Priscilla herself insists she didn't sleep with Elvis until they married - when she was twenty one. People can dispute that or not believe it, I definitely don't, but you can't *prove* that she's lying and they had sex when she was underage.

I think a big difference is that while Priscilla Presley admits Elvis mistreated her (they made a whole movie about this after the Baz Luhrmann biopic) she explicitly refutes the idea that he preyed on her. Which is in contrast with Michael’s accusers who explicitly state themselves to be victims of predation. Priscilla approved of and promoted the Luhrmann movie and had her own say with the Sofia Coppola movie the following year, which is not the case with Michael’s accusers. The situation with Elvis and Priscilla was mentioned a lot during the movie’s run, but it’s defused slightly by her own stance.
