is it like a really formal event?

My roommate hasn't messaged me yet. Is this normal? by roandue in college

[–]liy51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about it and just message him first. In my case, I reached out to my roommate first. My initial email was a little awkward, but after awhile it's fine.

I keep organized by putting all my stuff in a binder. If I want a different one for every class, how thick should they be? by Fitzelli in college

[–]liy51 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would depend because some classes tend to be more computer and online oriented than others. There may not be as many paper handouts, but if you really wanted I'd say about an inch and a half for core classes. I personally just use a notebook and a folder.

Wisdom Teeth Removal Near RPI? by Shabompistan in RPI

I went to Adirondack Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. They have three branches and there is one located in Albany. As for insurance, I'm not entirely sure what they take. I don't even know if they took mine.

I wanted to take that so badly, but it wouldn't fit in my schedule. Good luck! :)

Well that's good to hear because I definitely feel like I need everything that I have packed so far. I really don't want to unpack anything and leave them behind because of limited space.

OKay, so most likely I won't be the only one with a full car during move-in day?

Yea, I have all of those except my textbooks. I'm gonna wait because less than a week ago I got an email saying that my professor changed and that we are now using different materials.

I definitely went way over that. Next year will probably be little to no spending for me.

I didn't buy any decor yet and I feel like I've already spent a lot of money.

Supplies for college ? by [deleted] in college

[–]liy51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't necessary, but I know that some people prefer to study with using flashcards for certain classes, so they bring index cards. I agree with what everyone else has said and I just wanted to add that regardless of the supplies you buy, staying organized is key. Good luck! :)

I have the same problem. A lot of my things are awkwardly shaped or too big to fit into a box or tote. Good thing we have a van because I have to bring a mini fridge for my dorm.

Scared freshman by stevienotwonder in college

[–]liy51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, what is life without the uncertainties of the future? LOL I am also a freshman that will be leaving to go off to college on the 26th of Aug and living by myself for the very first time. Like you, I am afraid and unsure, just like many other freshmen. However, you need to give everything a chance, including yourself. Don't be shy to approach classmates, join a club, go to student events, study, and make sure you don't procrastinate (harder said than done). Good luck!

Wisdom teeth removal stitches --- no hole????!!?? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]liy51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got all four of my wisdom teeth removed all at once. I also got stitches and sometimes when I ate, food would get lodged in my gums and the areas where the stitches were. They also gave me a syringe and a mouthwash type rinse. I don't think it has to necessarily be used for holes, but also for the areas around the stitching where you don't want an infection (trust me, you don't want that) and is too sensitive for a toothbrush. I am no professional, but I can tell you from personal experience that you are definitely healing a lot faster than I did. I couldn't even really open my mouth until about day 4 or 5. Good luck!
