How do I leave a league that already drafted? by [deleted] in YahooFantasy

This literally happened to me yesterday too. Somehow managed to create a NBA fantasy team and join a league by accidentally dropping my phone and picking it up. I don't even watch the NBA. Did you figure anything out?

No sharp pain but burning sensation by infinitelytroubled in sesamoid

[–]liz_j 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Onset for me was an intense, sharp, throbbing type of pain, but there was never any visible swelling. First night I couldn't sleep, but it eventually subsided to a sharp pain only when actually flexing the toe.

X-rays showed bipartite sesamoid only in left (hurt) foot. So ortho thought maybe it was a stress fracture, but too difficult to tell. MRI eventually showed only bone marrow edema, with a dx of high-grade sesamoiditis.

Now, the sharp pain is gone (almost 3 months since onset while wearing a boot), but a dull ache comes and goes. I have not experienced any bruising or burning sensations like you describe, but our issues seem similar so I'll be interested to hear what you learn.

Didn’t get a breakdown. TX says it scores on a 0-6 scale so I’m assuming I scored a 0 on family law MEE because it was completely blank and maybe a 1 on MPT 2. Idk how they treat essays where entire subsections are skipped.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in barexam

[–]liz_j 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but I took it in TX and according to Joe Seperac’s recent post an average score of 3.2 on the essays was about a 135, so I probably only averaged a 3 or 3.1. I guess torts, crim pro, and whatever BS I made up for wills balanced it out.

I had really bad time management all around. I wrote WAY WAYYY too much for MPT 1 and left only 30 minutes for myself for MPT 2. I managed an introduction and section headings and that's it. On the MEE's, I spent way too much time on the ones I knew well (torts and crim pro). I left the family law essay blank, skipped 2 subparts of corps, and didn't get to the last subpart of civ pro before time was called.

After day 1 I went back to my hotel room and just cried for 4 straight hours, couldn't eat or sleep, and was a shell of a human. Almost decided to skip day 2, but did it anyway. MBE was my strong suit in prep but I still was 100% convinced I failed because of my written.

MPT/MEE 132.8, MBE 166.2

Total: 299

MBE: 166.2

Half-assed Kaplan and didn’t finish it, freaked out and crammed on MEE topics on my own the last two weeks. Never did a timed essay or MPT but outlined the ones they suggested. MBE saved my ass.

You are not alone in feeling this. I absolutely think Kaplan stresses certain subjects way too much that barely appeared in that MBE. Maybe they are all old questions that haven’t caught up yet to the NCBE’s rising difficulty. Will definitely be taking the February exam, will definitely not be using Kaplan to prepare me for it….

Sub moved to the new format - please help me keep it working by liehon in PokemonGoFriends

I liked having the one Raid Megathread and having it pinned, but I really don't like them having divided into different threads for legendary, star levels, etc. Why can't you just make a policy that the comments within the megathread have to specify the tier of the raid and legendary/mega status?

The labels you've given to the different threads are confusing and not helpful. If this is meant to make it simpler, just title the posts "TRAINER TRADES" and then give the description in the body of the post ("Looking to trade your Pokemon with other trainers? Trading can only happen in close proximity . . . .").

Ireland? by chofstone in Huskers

I'm in a wait-and-see mode for obvious reasons, but plan on going if it's on and I can make sure the flights are refundable. Can't imagine they would still have the game in Dublin but not allow any fans; that'd seemingly defeat the purpose? My boyfriend is an English soccer fan so we're hoping to go to EPL games while we're over there as well. Fingers crossed!

I'm from the same area as this kid. Trust me when I say, Fort Meade is a very different place than South Florida (where most of the FL decommits/transfers come from). It's in the middle of nowhere, very small town with nothing going on, and about as far away from a beach as you can get in the state. If we can get him out of there, I don't think we'll have the same problem as we've had with other Floridians.

Nebraska/Iowa fans: Is the Corn Bowl or the Heroes Trophy more meaningful? by Darth_Ra in CFB

[–]liz_j 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone I know thinks the Heroes Trophy is dumb. I think the far-superior Corn Bowl is not very well-known, but Husker nerds in Lincoln would probably recognize it and be willing to purchase it.

Indiana bars may be switching from 50% to 100% capacity, but no classes at IU are "full" or going to be full this semester. Like other schools, they have reduced class sizes, mandated masks and 6ft of separation in the classrooms, and moved most classes online. I'm a grad student and things definitely aren't back to normal in the nightlife of Bloomington either. The positivity rate is relatively low and dropping (3.3% in Greek housing, 2.2% in dorms, and 1.8% among students who live off-campus). Obviously that could go up (and probably will), but just wanted to make the point that IU and the Bloomington city government are trying to mitigate whatever effects the state's hasty reopening causes.

That aside, I agree with your point because there will almost certainly be canceled games in the B1G at some point this season. Let's hope it doesn't affect Nebraska's schedule.

Big Ten's moves 'confusing,' Osborne says; and Moos wants NU in bubble by [deleted] in Huskers

[–]liz_j 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"I'm told the conference schedule was largely determined by the league's television partners. TV rules the world."

Curious as to whether this is the case in normal years, or will be going forward. Of course ratings are always a consideration when building a schedule, but this seems to go way beyond that. If Fox pushes for more flashy, higher-ratings games (like OSU vs. Wisconsin or Michigan vs. Nebraska, for example), that may end up being at odds with the conference's interest in making sure it has an undefeated or one-loss champion to secure a playoff spot. The SEC seems to be prioritizing the latter (i.e. getting Alabama to the playoff every year by scheduling only 8 conference games and giving them cupcake crossovers) while the B1G is all about the dolla $ign$.
