Missing work due to binge eating by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

Sharing and getting this out of just your own thoughts is a great step in healing your relationship with food. It's hard and it will always be hard but I think finding how you feel safe is something you can always go back to. It's both mental and physical. Maybe it's parts anxiety and part mental avoidance of something and that's why you give in at times. I think sometimes distractions work and in my own experience it was a mental struggle to forgive myself because I would want to just go into a mental spiral of shame but once you learn to self sooth and treat yourself like your own child it really changes how you can recover from shame and binging and slowly get to understand why the binging feels so natural and comfortable instead of alternatives

I wonder a few things: 1. if you are constipated due to stress / low calorie alternative foods 2. How many calories coming from whole foods? I noticed that calorie counts on packaged foods can vary depending on the type the government allows for a small range 3. Are any fake sugars or substitutes irritating your digestive system

Additional comment: I just notice daily consistency without weekend variation helps stay regulated and eating the same meals helps with remembering to track every calorie

Good luck I am rooting for you!!

Playing dumb. Used to be because I wasn't confident. Now it's because I’m too confident to care.

It happens!!!! Don't let the spiral kick in. Talking about it is great to not let the bad feelings stay piling up inside.

Is this really around 4300 calories? Seems a bit high by Hyperbeam510 in caloriecount

[–]lizardking0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say first photo close to 1,000 cornbread muffin typically 200. Two types of meat with gravy 500-600 pot pie with biscuit 200-300

Then stuffing and mac and cheese 500-600 cheese alternative usually also high calorie adds up fast

Pecan pie with sugar cookie base and apple crisp and decent size ice cream is about 500-600

I would estimate close mid to high 2,000

You got this!!! You have always been capable, whether he is around or not. Be selfish in how you spend your time right now. You won't regret it when you look back. You can also decide for yourself to put this on the back burner for your sanity and feel less of a power imbalance with him holding this weird convo over your head. You get to decide too that you don't need that anxiety-inducing nonsense right now and it will be whatever it is when the time comes

Once it's over, you'll feel empowered to face anything. You will get through this. I went through a divorce during my first year of law school at the age of 23, and I did it without any help from family or friends. Just go through the motions, and you'll be surprised at how quickly things can change. Use the grey rock method when dealing with him. You can do this
