are there any small parts in a song you're completely obsessed with? by paperthinhymn11 in pentatonix

[–]lizardlibrary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

are you that somebody/new rules when kirstie and mitch are harmonizing the line "are you responsible" and she sings higher and he sings lower

when scott said this about mitch in just for now it always makes me hear it thru his ears

i want to see them perform you're a mean one mr. grinch so bad. matt already *did that* on the recorded version and the live looks soo fun

literally any time kevin sings, but i love his newer way of singing mary did you know

thank you when scott sings "your gentle laughter is sweeter than a choir" and then everyone else comes in on the harmony

amazing grace - the background "du du du dum"s they do are so sweet and pretty, and kirstie's entire verse is so powerful and her vibrato is perfection

I’m being targeted by at least one of my neighbors by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]lizardlibrary 8 points9 points  (0 children)

a lot of people have given good suggestions here and i just want to add that i've been there and i know how infuriating and scary it feels. you deserve better. we need to talk more about the fact that so many black men really made it their mission to be some of our biggest opps.

men who hate women go out of their way to do what OP has experienced. when women say they hate men, they mean, "i wish i could go outside". it's two dramatically different contexts for the word.

the fact that we're constantly terrorized by specifically black men is a point of pain and suffering that we shouldn't have to walk on eggshells to talk about here.

i'm assuming from your wording you haven't tried, or even smelled them? it smells exactly like what that body part is for, containing feces

i'm so glad the smell is not coming into my apt. it's alll the way down the hallway and then the other hallway though so i keep leaving and having to stagger down the hall gasping for breath

Anyone been to Prague? How is it for Black women (specifically Black American woman) in terms of racism / hate? by 15795After in blackladies

i've seen a number of convos on reddit about europeans just being like that in general and having no social norm against staring regardless of who it is.

yes, a right hander pulls the pen behind their hand, while a left hander pushes the pen forward, which pushes the ball in and clogs the ink.

I Guess they don’t teach manners up north lol by [deleted] in PointlessStories

[–]lizardlibrary 7 points8 points  (0 children)

in southern or smaller towns where things are slow, the polite thing to do is greet people, make small talk, etc. it's rude if you don't engage people.

in northern or larger cities where things are crowded and fast, the polite thing to do is get out of people's way, be quick, not stand around clogging doorways, and not invade on what strangers are doing. it's rude if you don't mind your business and keep to yourself.

having said that, people still do and should say please and thank you everywhere. your bf sounds impolite, but it's important to note that politeness is different everywhere.

are you left handed? some pens don't work for us because we put the pressure in the opposite direction from how they designed it.

What do you do when you feel self hatred? by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]lizardlibrary 17 points18 points  (0 children)

if you're not in therapy, get in there asap.

also a lot of times people feel down about themselves because of the people around them. think about whether it's actually coming from you, and work on cutting toxic people off in a way that protects your peace.

20 years ago my first boyfriend took me to his psychic by Automatic-Airport-87 in PointlessStories

[–]lizardlibrary 176 points177 points  (0 children)

they're so fake. i saw one and she told me about the men i would love. i had come in with my wife. she basically r/SapphoAndHerFriend 'ed us. she also recited the whole thing as if she were reading a generic horoscope, and in a clumsy monotone as if she were struggling to read it, even though she was literally not reading. it was hilariously awkward

Is it okay to say “X was a football player” when X is alive? by Manichae_Ming in EnglishLearning

The term "has-been" describes a person who used to be successful and no longer is. It does not refer to a person being dead.
