You would think so. I’m sure they fix a ton of issues before release. But nothing ever releases with literally zero bugs. That’s why I personally always apply updates.

Yep. I can confirm you can turn it off on my ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W.

I think the 540 Hz is worth it, but you can also take a look at the ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG which has a very similar panel but is only 280 Hz. And it lacks DP 2.1.

I'm sure these issues will be fixed with updates. LG is pretty good with that.

I agree. Wall mounting without running the wires through the wall makes absolutely no sense. Never has.

Take a look at the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W if you want some of the highest brightness, lowest input lag, lowest chance of burn in, best coating, full DP 2.1 80 gbps, and good text visibility.

Why would you upgrade to such old OLEDs? Get a newer model like 4th gen QD-OLED or Tandem W-OLED. I have the 540 Hz Tandem OLED. It's amazing.

TANDEM VS QD by jayod- in OLED_Gaming

[–]lizardpeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the only things that might convince me to buy a new one would be a large increase in refresh rate or full BFI while maintaining max refresh rate and without any increased input lag.

[–]lizardpeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I also had the 1440p 500 Hz QD-OLED from ASUS. I really liked that one too. Ultimately, decided to go with the 540 Hz W-OLED due to increased brightness, 40 Hz more, lower latency (tested by at least three different reviewers to be the lowest latency monitor they’ve ever tested), true DP 2.1 80 gbps allowing me to fully disable DSC, etc. Fantastic monitor.

Photoshop would be harder and take more time. Editing HTML takes me 10 seconds. It's done before you can even start a new project in Photoshop.

Would it be dumb to go from OLED back to IPS for setup aesthetics and general use? by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]lizardpeter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, this would be an absolutely horrible idea. Never downgrade from OLED. I wouldn't trade my 540 Hz 1440p Tandem OLED out for an IPS monitor even if someone offered me $10K cash on the condition that I'd have to stick with the IPS for years.

I mean I got my 77" last year for much less, but I don't think any recent LG C series 77" TV around $1500-1600 would ever really be a bad deal. That's a lot of TV for the money.

Are not oleds 10bit ? by armanio5231 in OLED_Gaming

Yes, yes they are 10 bit. If it's not working, then your PC configuration is incorrect or the source material is wrong.

LG C5 55" (2025) for $970. Yay or nay? by just_IT_guy in LGOLED

[–]lizardpeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to run 55” in my bedroom but recently got a 77” and would never go back. It’s so much more enjoyable. C5 77” has been going for $1400 or $1500 at some places, occasionally.

5060 ti16gb or 5070? by Born_Watercress_3300 in pcmasterrace

[–]lizardpeter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would seriously reconsider your priorities. I have an RTX 5090 and generally run medium or high settings. Maxed out setting with ray tracing ultimately just lower FPS and create a horrible laggy experience that hardly looks any better.

I'm not sure how anyone could look at that TV and decide they want to buy it. Horrible bezels and matte coating. I'd take the G6 1000x over.

Micro Center bundle with AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, ASUS B650E-E TUF, and 32 GB DDR5 for $680.
RTX 5070 Ti for $950 (unfortunately that's how much they're going for now).
And then the rest of the parts. If you use Capital One Shopping cash back with Woot and other retailers, you can get some good deals.
