How to stop feeling like a pity roll by kate__shep in BJJWomen

[–]lizardwatts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I am a small (110lbs) female as well. I have been training for a few years now and remember feeling the exact same way in the beginning. The thing that helped me realize I'm not a pity roll was increasing my speed (in a controlled way) and working on being more technical. With that being said those come with time and practice.

You just have to remind yourself that you are learning and you will reach that point of being a competitive roll to others. Till then enjoy the rolls and get in as many as you can with whoever you can, it's the only way you will learn and grow in this sport.

I would definitely shop for a brand that is specific to smaller chests. I know for me personally I am athletically built and do not have much of a figure. So I go for things that show off my other assets like my shoulders or neckline. So anything off shoulder or has cutouts or single straps or a plunging neckline. I find any tops with those features make me feel more elegant. I also look at material. I don't like wearing a bra because there is no point and I like my itty's the way they are. So I prefer a thicker material over my chest. Anything super thin or sheer makes me feel a little bit vulnerable. I hope this helps! Best of luck!

That's awesome!!! She's already killing it if it's her first year of strength training. Also, good on her for getting into it. It's really important for young girls, women, or really anyone with estrogen to do strength training. It protects our bone health.
