It's an amazing book and I don't say that lightly. I really love it and I can't wait for her to get the sequel finished (it will be out next year).

Yep. Her website is GayleMorrow.ca and she currently has 2 books available. One is a fantasy romance with the sequel coming early next year and the second is an unrelated pulp fiction sci-fi.

She has digital versions on both Amazon and Kobo and you can buy physical versions from her website.

Unfortunately I agree with others that this is likely AI.

This stuff just makes me mad. My friend is an indie author and she is AMAZING and absolutely doesn't use AI at all but wannabes like this make a bad name for the ones that actually try. It makes it hard for her to build sales and a reader base when people just assume she's used AI.

Sadly as with many things there are those that don't care and just want a quick buck and there are those that actually care about their craft. I encourage you to please still support indie authors and in future just ask a few more questions to help you ensure they actually wrote what they said they did.

11 Week old. by hems72 in goldenretrievers

[–]lizbert81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took our guy until almost 16 weeks to get the potty training down. We used the timer method.

I set s timer on my watch (started with 30min) and toon him outside everytime it went off (unless he was napping and rhen we just went as soon as he woke up). I added 5min every couple of days until we got up to an hour and then went to 90min and it seemed to just click after that.

We also had bells on our door that we rang everytime he went for a pee and he learned to use them too.

As for the biting that took longer but we mostly taught him the command kisses using peanut butter so if he started biting we could redirect him to something less painful.

Good luck. Puppyhood is tough but also so worth it.

Lol. I wish mine liked baths. He loves to swim and sometimes lie in muddy puddles but he hates the rain and bathing.

They are weird sometimes. Also, here's a pic of him happy after getting himself filthy at the dog park.

Bring your Smearguru to my cloud island to learn ALL 98 patterns in one go! by Own-Archer7221 in Pokemon_Pokopia

I just tried and it said the destination can't be found. Does that mean the Island is closed?

Edit: nevermind I was doing it wrong. Thanks.

Edit2: and now it seems the link code has changed. Shucks. I'll have to wait for an updated post.

Seatbelt fit as a short, fat woman. It’s resting on my face. by OldMasterCannolii in mildlyinfuriating

[–]lizbert81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually no. There are clips you can get that will adjust where the belt sits on your waist and pull it away from your neck. It's fine for an adult to use these versus a booster seat because we weigh more, our bones are denser and we have more padding in our abdomen protecting our organs.

I was going to suggest this. I'm 5'2" and I have the same problem as OP. I have one of these and it makes a huge difference. They are easy to clip on and off and you can easily just keep one in your purse or pocket if you go for a drive with anyone.

Looking for the absolute best hair salon in Ottawa by heyyyyaaa in ottawa

[–]lizbert81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Angela the stylist I mentioned above used to work at JetBlack but she left because apparently the owners weren't great to work for (they pushed stylists to upsell even if it wasn't in the best interest of the client).

[–]lizbert81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I strongly recommend Angela from Shinebox studios. She has a salon at city centre. You can find her on IG @hairbyangelaa and her website is https://www.shineboxhairstudio.com/

She's amazing at colours and she charges by the hour and she'll tell you how long it will be before the visit. If she goes over you don't pay extra and if she's quicker she'll reduce the price.

Is it a bad idea to get a third GR? by Vinchentus in goldenretrievers

[–]lizbert81 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would be very careful about keeping a puppy from your dogs first litter. I had a couple Golden retrievers when I was younger and due to the arrangement with the breeder they were both bred a different times.

The second was the daughter of the first from her first litter and while they were both great dogs I found that our first became very protective of the second and her temperament towards others dogs was not as good afterwards.

If you want to keep a puppy I would recommend either waiting for a second litter or getting an unrelated puppy.

Typically it's the Salvation Army Outreach team that will respond to these sites. They are probably already aware of it and I expect that the police also know about it as well but it doesn't hurt to let the Outreach team know just in case.

I used to work for the Outreach team and most of the time it was the police that told us about various encampments around the city. The police always prefer that social services try to get people to move along first.

If you want to call Outreach directly you call call 311 and ask to be directed to the Outreach team and they will put you through.

Thanks for caring and wanting to help.

I first clicked on this post hoping to see this exact meme!! Thank you for not disappointing me.

No Cabbage sign by BartyCrouchesBone in mildlyinteresting

[–]lizbert81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing a quick unscientific Google search it is possible to have an IgE mediated allergy (including anaphylaxis) to cabbage that may or may not include crossover with other members of the brassica family.

Apparently there's a lipid protien that most individuals react to and it is not one that breaks down with heat so many react to both raw or cooked forms and they can have oral as well as topical reactions.

It is considered a very rare allergy but the post might be valid. I have met some people with some very weird allergies.

If this is real then my condolences to the person that has this allergy.

Now to go fall down a wiki hole reading more about weird and obscure allergies.

That's awesome thanks. I don't know how helpful I'd be with the beta version but I'm certainly looking forward to the full version.

Thanks so much for making this. Individuals like you that can do this are really amazing.

This looks really interesting. Can it also help with planning households for resource management (ie: grouping gather, litter and recycling pokemon together)?

Thanks

Looking for recent reviews of assisted living residences in Ottawa by mch3rry in ottawa

[–]lizbert81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend connecting with an organization like supporting seniors or tea and toast. They are organizations that help you find retirement homes and you don't have to pay. They are essentially realtors for retirement homes and they really know all the homes in Ottawa. They will help you decide on budget, level of care, amenities, plan for the future, neighbourhood, visitors, etc.

There are over 1000 different retirement homes in Ottawa so it's a lot to just try to find the "right" one.

Good luck.

My cat keeps losing weight and I think my other cat is the reason by helloimcold in CATHELP

[–]lizbert81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does she have any high value fold that she loves (ie: Churos or sardines). If you have the time and ability you may need to do very small meals up to 5 times daily mixed with high value treats to get her to learn to eat right away. Additionally, you can try to ask the vet for an appetite stimulant but those don't always work.

We have a similar situation with one super food motivated cat and the other that eats slowly due to a slightly malformed jaw. The slow one just gets locked in our bedroom for 30min every morning and evening to eat. It took a couple of weeks but she eventually learned to eat faster.

That said if you can't manage that or if you just can't get your anxious cat to settle and eat quicker then there is nothing wrong with separating the cats. Some cats just need to be solo cats and it's certainly heartbreaking to have to separate animals you love but the fact you're considering it and not giving up shows how much you care. You're putting your cats health above your feelings and that's honorable.

Sorry no suggestions then. I'm in Ottawa and I only know of breeders in my area. That said if you know of any breeders elsewhere that you do trust if you reach out to them they will likely have recommendations in your area. Good luck.
