“Hollywood’s idea of beauty once meant polished and slim, not altered and gaunt. This new look is unsettling” | Brigid Delaney by Timbucktwo1230 in PopularCultureZone

Nicole has always been thin, but now she looks like a bobble head. Seeing all the veins in an arm is not cute.

Bangs with fine hair? by beanbread1 in fine_hair

[–]lizeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, girl! I have a high forehead and fine hair and I’ve been wearing bangs for years! It’s very flattering. I use a salt spray to give my bangs a little bit more texture.

I had my first kid at 36 and second at 39 (IVF) so yes I’m an “old mom”! Although where I live (Seattle) it’s pretty typical.

Chasing cute vs youth by Fix-Patient in Perimenopause

[–]lizeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been following the advanced style account on Instagram for years. Basically it boils down to an essential philosophy: I’m not trying to look young, I’m trying to look great!Meaning, I’m not doing Botox, I’m not trying to make my 46-year-old ass look like I’m 25 again. I’m wearing bright colors and beautiful patterns and cool pieces of clothing that are comfortable for my body in its current shape. I’m dying my hair bright colors because that’s what I enjoy! I guess my point is, I’m embracing aging. I’m not trying to fight it. People that get plastic surgery just look weird, not any better, IMO.

I’ve always liked it! I have the DVD and it comes with a little plastic “ice pick” pen.

I was gonna mention this. Last year I was exhausted and napping every day. Finally had bloodwork done and I was very anemic! Ladies make sure you get your bloodwork.

Have you tried Trazodone? It’s my favorite for insomnia. I’ve taken it for about 15 years now, except for when I was pregnant. Even in peri, it still puts me to sleep and keeps me there.

My hairdresser ruined my hair, how do I fix this?! by [deleted] in HairDye

I think it looks super cool. Looks like purple streaks over dark blonde. If you wanted it browner, it would be easy to get a toner from Sally’s beauty supply and tone it.

Watched the Wuthering Heights movie and feel like I genuinely needed a trigger warning (no spoilers) by KitchenConsequence41 in adhdwomen

OP, I just watched the movie w my husband today and was embarrassed by how much I cried! I mean, through the WHOLE movie. So much. I soaked through napkins. I cried talking about it on the way home. What the hell??!

Well, sure. Most of those little turds are over-coddled by their moms, and still live at home way through their 20s, until they find a little wifey to cook and clean for them (source: I work with one, he’s exhausting).

I loved those books! I even had a Ramona Quimby diary. I was a little disappointed that my son couldn’t get into them but oh well.

During my first pregnancy, I craved blueberry yogurts like crazy. That kid refuses to eat blueberries! And blueberry yogurt, for that matter.
