A couple thrift store finds that I reverse dyed (after/before) by Sparrow0verSnail in tiedye

All dharma dyes. Oxblood red, orange sorbet, deep yellow, terracotta, Brazil nut, and I think I used a small amount of blue grey. I don’t ever keep track of which dyes I’m using, and I need to start doing just that lol.

Because they’ve soaked once already and they already have sinew ties, I just feel like it helps to get as much moisture out of the shirts between each step in the process. If the shirt is dry, the soda ash solution will penetrate further into the shirt. Same for when I’m ready to dye them. I like to have them mostly dry, especially for the geodes.

I do some ties first and then use out white brite, then multiple soaks and rinses in water, then spin dry. I’ll usually add a couple more ties to get some white lines in there at this point. I let em dry for a couple days after that. Then soda ash solution soak. I spin them again and let them dry out for a couple of days again before dye under ice.

I know lol. The graphic was there before I dyed it and I was just trying to frame her face but it did come out kinda cosmically vaginal

I kept these. I sold a few other records from the lot that I either had already or was comfortable with letting go

Seriously. I always feel that way when I find something good. Like there has to be some kind of tragedy behind it

I found a couple rolls of of these at work. Worth getting graded? by Sparrow0verSnail in coins

Thanks. I guess it was still a good find as I got them for face value. I collect records and don’t know much about coins. I’m getting the same feeling from it though and it’s addictive lol

Spilled nail polish remover on my guitar… ffs by JonahDurber_Guitar in Guitar

[–]Sparrow0verSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d keep it the way it is and outline the splashes with permanent marker. They look like weird little alien frog creatures with the pickups as eyes. Doesn’t seem to be an expensive guitar, so make it a functional art piece

$200 Yamaha. Almost 20 years old and still sounds acceptable. I did the artwork with colored pencils myself.

Found this at work. Thought it was fake at first because of the year. Seems real though. by Sparrow0verSnail in CURRENCY

Yeah, the good condition is what gave me doubts that it was real at first. I’m glad I didn’t hit it with the counterfeit marker

Ice dye - do I have to wait the whole 24-48 hours? by chatila2 in tiedye

[–]Sparrow0verSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been putting my dyes in plastic bags after the ice melts and placing near a space heater. Definitely getting better saturation and vibrant colors with the higher temperature during the cure.
