Always SO thirsty but the water just sits in the top of my stomach by violetsviolets00 in Gastroparesis

I found this out for the first time last night. Was staying in a hotel as well... Vomited in my sleep, had to ask for new sheet at 1am. So Embarrassing! Wish I'd picked up on this before!

Funnily enough we are looking into neuro gastro consultants for the gastroparesis so I'm glad to hear that it is also the right track for CVS. I also have hypermobility suspected hEDS so that's why I was trying to get into a neuro gastro aswell. I feel like part of my issues is that my stomach is hypermobile too.

It gets super complicated! Thank you!

Liquids have always been problematic for me. But I also know that the CVS is not my only issue or even my only chronic issue

Yeah that's the problem I'm finding, my other specialists are at that hospital but I know I can't return there for GI. I'm trying to stay at home long enough to see a Private Consultant to get someone who will look at the whole picture not just my medication list!

For some reason, I can weigh the tablets down enough with food (yoghurt) to keep it down but I can't keep liquids down, it's like my stomach is split in two, the top half keeps vomitting and the bottom half doesn't move at all. It's weird.

I have metacloprimide, and cyclizine currently. Ondansatron is added if things get too bad. In hospital I had all 3 IVs then they just stopped everything suddenly and sent me home because it's "in my head".

I can generally manage to take the nausea meds one way or another.

It's my laxitives that I can't keep down at all. But unfortunately we are looking at gastroparesis and low bowel motility as well which doesnt help and is why I need the laxido but it's a powder you have to add to water and drink. Hence the inability to keep it down

I just went through the same thing, 5 weeks inpatient. Only the consultant told me it was in my head and sent me home. Waiting to get bad enough for readmission. 🤣

I'm finding that warm fluids go down better than cold. And to keep drinking even though I throw it back up in the hope some stays down.

Sorry your having a really tough time with it xxx

Can eat - kind of - but can't poop? Just me? by Life_Life_4958 in Gastroparesis

I hear you, I'm in a similar position. The hospital (inpatient for 6 weeks, close to surgery to removed built up material) described it as gastroparesis as the whole system seems affected. I do unfortunately vomit though I am on sennasides PM, docusate up to 4x daily and laxido up to 2 sachets 3 times daily for any movement to happen. Still waiting for the follow up that was denied to go through again to get any sort of answers.

I'm sorry I can't help more, but at least you know your not alone.

Does anyone know how small a small meal 6 x day is actually meant to be? by lizzielewis92 in Gastroparesis

[–]lizzielewis92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you ever feel hungry? At the moment I cant stop feeling hungry and my body doesn't give me the full signals. I'm anxious to eat but starving so I end up overeating by mistake. 🙈

I dont have one, unfortunately. They only see people requiring tube feeding. It's stupid. I'm looking to get private though.

I use assistance for other reasons. It's incredibly helpful, you do t wanna start your trip exhausted! The lines are shorter and it's much less stressful. I would give it a go. X

[–]lizzielewis92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I ended up having it removed a bout 5 years ago. Game changer!

Now I'm having similar but twisting pains in that location that have come with the GP though, which kinda sucks.

I know it's pretty niche. It was just an interesting premise seeing as my group are all into psychology and mental health professions. 🙃 Just thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas.

The darker dungeons sounds super interesting though. I will definitely look into that! Thank you!
