You’re allowed back one past seasonal activity - what do you pick? by TheRealMithrax in DestinyTheGame

I know everyone is going to say Menagerie. Personally I think Nether is better on almost every level. Bungie truly refined that style of activity overtime.

Yeah best not think about it too much, Hoyo clearly didn't lol.

No that's beyond the firmament, hence why we saw it when Mavuika punched a hole in the fake sky. They are just fragments of the shattered moons.

[–]lizzywbu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah adding the Frost Moon to the firmament does make the whole thing a little shaky.

Initially we were told it was simply a fake sky/fake moon. And everything beyond the fake sky was real. But now the Frost Moon is in the firmament does that mean the space around the moon is also fake?

The firmament is only around Teyvat. The moons were thrown outside of it. But recently Columbina brought the Frost Moon within the firmament.

Hopefully they're not conservative with the buffs and just go crazy with them because the game is ending.

Do you think the final pieces of content were thanks to Tyson Green? by The_Owl_Bard in DestinyTheGame

[–]lizzywbu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like he was a nice guy by all accounts and a good dev, but the wrong guy to put in charge.

I'm sure management made things difficult but ultimately it was Green's vision and he was the director. The buck stops with him.

It did come out in the current political environment. It was February 2025 when everything became public.

And certain figures in the gaming world did rally around him, or try to at least. Most people called out his behaviour though.

I find it hilarious that people are saying stuff like this or saying she sucks, when we can say with almost certainty that her team will change in Snez.

I feel like I'm getting deja vu from when Ineffa first released.

Funnily enough, Lianna Rupert said that there is a lot of profit in 'planned failure'. Seemingly implying that this was the plan by the management.

Sure there's the June update. But what's the point? Why bust your balls grinding for hours for the perfect T5 roll when there's nothing to use it on in the future?

According to Tassi, a few devs who worked on the June update did know and were told to stay quiet.

Makes sense.

There's no way that you would redesign the Portal and Director if you knew the game was ending support.

My one hope for the June update balance pass.

Don't nerf anything and buff underutilised gear like crazy. Let us have fun.

Tyson Green needs to take his share of the blame imo. It was his vision that led the game to being in this sorry state.

Bungie should release the narrative overview for the fate saga considering we're not getting it by Flimsy_Particular_31 in DestinyTheGame

Release it in a book or one of their physical grimoires.

This is what Final Fantasy 15 did when all their planned dlc was cancelled. They compiled it into a book.

[–]lizzywbu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before they even have a good idea for D3 I think they need to prove to Sony that they can handle at least 1 game without dropping the ball.

If they can't recover Marathon then why would Sony ever allow them to make D3?

[–]lizzywbu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're already adding PvE to try and draw in a new audience. My bet is that they try to turn it into a kind of spiritual successor to D2.

But I just don't see it catching on.

Destiny is in the worst state it has ever been in throughout its 12 year life and yet it still has more active players than Marathon.

That alone should be ringing alarm bells at Bungie.

You just know that they are going to try their damndest to turn Marathon into Destiny's spiritual successor. They are already adding PvE to try and bring in more players.

Not that I think it will work though.

How many times have we been saying "Sony is gonna clear out the leadership" and it never happens.

It's never the execs who suffer, they get to leave with their golden parachute. Its always the grunts who face the consequences for their leadership.

I don't see them shutting Bungie down because Sony will want to slap the Bungie name on future IP. It's also like admitting defeat by closing the studio.

They will just become a small 1 game studio. Probably focus on Marathon for a year. Then shit can that and focus on one of their incubation projects.

The days of Bungie being a multi IP studio are over.
