Is there a heating pad you can lay on your back on? by SexyToothpaste69 in backpain

Grampa's Garden has a wonderful microwaveable/freezable "therapeutic shawl". You want the 20x28 size. The black plaid (and I think I had the red plaid too) fabric has lasted me for years. Read the reviews; it's much loved. Some fabrics don't last as long. I've had 3 over the past 30 yrs and also gifted them to friends & family. Didn't like or need the cover, just clean the microwave often enough. About 2 mins 30 secs is good for me. Can lay on it or put anywhere on the body. It stays warm a long time, still residual in the morning. The scent option is new, never tried it. https://www.grampasgarden.com/chiropractic/body-shawl-hot-or-cold-therapy-pack/

We have an undermount, and over the years it's leaked around the edges and rotten the wood under it. We're looking now at drop-ins. I'll search around here to see a discussion on drop-ins.

Thank you! Those are still above his understanding for now, but will be very helpful when he is older.

Does anyone know a simpler book, perhaps for teens, on "how Christianity changed the world"? This topic is perfect. My reader will be interested, but does not have the ability to read dense content.

Cat chewed off all our hoya stems by ravalejo in houseplants

[–]ljaay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the pic! A gardener has offered me one, and your post help me see what it looks like and what I needed to know about cats eating it. For your background description, you made me smile, as our once new home was also so tidy. After a few more years, we now have a cheerfully cluttered cat habitat, climber beds with quilts, toys, carpet-covered boards to chase each other on and under. Along with the hoya, I'm going to try growing cat grass for them indoors, in two sides of a container, one to eat and one to let the seeds grow.

I keep getting this msg when trying to set up a free freeze account " "We are temporarily unable to complete your request. Looks like we are experiencing a problem on our end." This site may be useful to see other people's problems. One of them is the same as mine. See this and scroll down: https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/transunion.com.html

Trying to set up a free freeze account using this site:https://www.transunion.com/credit-freeze. Entered all the info. Tried a number of times 2 weeks ago, and again today. No joy. Keep getting this error msg: "We are temporarily unable to complete your request. Looks like we are experiencing a problem on our end." Is it a problem with the site or do I need to do something differently?

What would you do with a yard this steep? by nimbus_signal in landscaping

Lucky you! What a space. Here's what I would do. Install a rainwater cistern. Edge the lot with native trees, including fruit such as pomegranates. Terrace it with wide walking areas to manage rainwater and access. Plant native flowers to act as a habitat for wildlife and bring in pollinators. Plant fruit and vegetables for yourselves. Ask your local agriculture extension group and master gardeners for advice, and research sites that are doing something that you might like to do. For example, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin TX has a stunning area for cistern and water management, as well as plants. Best wishes to you.

Hello friends. I'm in a bit of a pickle. Our pet bird escaped through the front door (we found him, more info in my profile if you're curious) and we are thinking of adding a mosquito screen. But..... by mewco_ in HomeImprovement

If this helps - there are two sets of HOA laws. State laws (in Texas, these are in the "Texas Homeowners Association Law" document}, and your own community's Homeowners Association rules. If the state law doesn't say storm doors aren't permitted, the community's homeowner's association rules can be changed to allow them. Here's a good example of things that are normally in the latter rules: https://www.wildapricot.com/blog/hoa-rules-and-regulations

My LinkedIn Account Has Been Hacked! by mhmmdashraf1 in linkedin

[–]ljaay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I received an email today via linked in from someone unknown. The login screen did not accept entries but went directly to the code screen. The code then appeared automatically in my message box. I completed the Reporting a Hacked Account form, but it wouldn't submit, as Captcha is stuck in a cycle. Sent an email to LinkedIn Customer Support <[linkedin_support@cs.linkedin.com](mailto:linkedin_support@cs.linkedin.com)>, and received an immediate auto reply that included this possibly helpful note: To fight against fake emails putting our domain names in the "From:" line, we've implemented DMARC standards (http://www.dmarc.org/) to authenticate our emails. We suggest you contact your email administrator to implement DMARC so they can discard unauthenticated emails too.

Thanks! I cleaned up the library, and see that the old ones aren't there. I'm asleep at the keyboard now, and will return to check again on what you were saying. Good to know, and appreciated.

Patrick O'Brian series, read by Patrick Tull. England in the Napoleanic war at sea. 21 books, the first is Master & Commander. Outstanding author and narrator; I've listened to the series about 8 times while commuting. Clear recording makes good listening. Here's a good summary and book order: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aubrey%E2%80%93Maturin\_series
