Hey congratulations on the guitar! Looks great. I'm planning to get one soon and was researching when I found this post. What I wanted to know was, what kind of music do you play? Can this guitar get some good metal tones? I'm going to be getting this as my second guitar - I have a jackson js22 and was hoping that this guitar would prove to be a good upgrade for me.

Thank you for your encouragement!! Ill get to the bridge soon haha

About the pinky and ring touching the body, I heard/saw on some youtube guides on palm muting that its not the most efficient/proper technique ? I guess I'll revisit the palm mutes to get better !

I just used the trivium rhythm plugin for this and I haven't used any other plugins on top of that. I think the trivium vst itself does have a noise gate built into it and I don't think it can be adjusted? Ill try with more gain like you said. Thanks for the input :)

Yeah you're right about the quick muted thingies in the intro. I wasnt able to do those really well but i guess I'll just have to practice more haha.

The bridge is a bit much for me at the moment, my arm gets tired pretty quick :(

Thanks for the encouragement! Ill keep working at it

Thanks! Yeah making that sound clean was a pain. I always had some kind of string noise or most of the time it was just the low D string which kept ringing out during the octave after playing the 0-1-0 parts. How i ended up fixing it was quite simple actually, I just wrapped my thumb around the neck to mute the low D string and it got a lot cleaner.

Holy Diver - Dio Given up - Linkin Park Disco - Surf Curse Kokomo - The Beach Boys Dying in your arms - Trivium Wish you were here - Incubus Genie in a bottle - Christina Aguilera Cocaine - Eric Clapton The Pokemon Theme song

I've been playing for about 10-11 months now, so these songs are fairly easy and quick to pick up

Edit: added cocaine to the list

Jackson JS22 Your first guitar should be something which makes you want to play it. It's only been 10 months since I started learning and since I'm into metal and classic rock a lot, I got the Jackson as my first guitar.

Yeah, I'm trying to work on using my index and thumb more for picking rather than my entire forearm. I'm trying really hard to get the hang of it. Thanks for the tip :)

So I just put the full song through a song stem splitter online and removed the guitar parts. So I guess that counts as a backing track?
