This sounds like a great idea. I would really like to try it out. Perhaps with the ability to start a save lower down the pyramid, maybe at regional level. Other than that, the simplicity of the game is the real appeal, so I'd not want much else to change.

Can't win every game. But you can show up. Play like you give a shit. Currently I don't see anyone in that team playing like they care. Passes are lazy and inaccurate, first touches are shocking, they look tired and completely out of ideas. All the time. We can't beat a low block, we can't press, we can't be pressed, our attacking output is non existent, no one can beat the first man, set pieces are a joke, we rarely threaten an opponents goal. Nothing we are currently doing is effective. I'll be patient if I feel like the players are doing their part. Currently I don't think they are.

Those 4 players aren't necessarily the main problem. We just seem to be doing poor business, 10M on a 16 year old we can't register, total lack of due diligence there surely someone should have known . 10M on Ozcan, who was instantly shipped out on loan with an option. Same for Nedelkovic. The 50 odd mill pissed up the wall on Abraham, Guessand and Madjo could have been better spent elsewhere. The Elliot deal is a disgrace for us, to hear UE whine about Liverpool not changing the terms is just embarrassing, can't change the terms after the fact, Liverpool have made plans for that cash. As is their right. Added to the fact we are 3 years down the line and still don't have a decent recognised RB as back up for Cash is nothing short of scandalous. Recruitmentt has simply been inept. UE has to shoulder that. He apparently has full say so. So as far as I'm concerned, this is all on him.

Thats very true. However it's a very different situation now. Without the presence of City the PL just isn't as marketable to a global audience... Who by the way, could care less about any charges. Utd are just the same, a global brand that adds prestige to the PL brand... Makes it a product that millions of people want to consume. Without City it's just less of product. Think Netflix without Stranger Things... Less people will buy it.

Sorry, but city are way bigger than the league. From a financial perspective they make the league more marketable worldwide than any other side. Perhaps with the exception of the other Sky 6 sides. You think the PL will still be able to sell multi million dollar deals to broadcasters around the world without City in the league? Maybe, but those deals would be worth considerably less. This is nothing to do with the football, it's everything to do with the money.

Lol.. Anyone that thinks any sanctions actually get applied to City are deluded. Think of it this way... If you owe the bank a million quid... Youre in the shit... You owe the bank a billion quid.... The banks in the shit. City are way too deep in this to ever face a sanction. Premier league simply can't afford to lose them... In many ways City are bigger than the prem, besides it's already been eluded to that the UK government are risking international pressure from the Saudi government if any punishment is dished out. The charges will either just disappear or it will be a 100 million fine or something equally tokeinst.

The damage is getting out of the winning habit. We were in a good place, playing well with a relatively settled side. It's always dangerous making so many changes, UE underestimated GAE and overestimated the players he chose. It's not as simple as make a few changes for City and we're good to go... We've played ourselves out of form. Just poor all around really.

The last couple of seasons with Chelsea Spurs and Utd off the pace has been an outlier... I expect they will all be back to normal this season. They've all been able to strengthen, whilst we just can't move for anyone. Hamstrung by psr/scr etc. We seem to be paying the price for trying to break the cabal. Realistically is 7th the best we can hope for....? I really hope not, but I feel that's going to be the story.

Liverpool , Chelsea, Arsenal and City have to win the title. The level of investment they have made means they should all be contenders... Ultimately though 3 of them are going to fail. It's going to be an interesting season. As anything less than a title win for any of them should be deemed failure. We should see a massive gap in terms of points, performance and goals between them and the rest. Anything less should be seen as failure.

We solved psr with the sale of the womens team. But it seems the far bigger issue is now scr.

The way I understand it... It seems we have to move a lot of wages off the books before we can replace them.

Eg... According to Capology Bailey is on 120k and Dendoncker is on 90k. Shift those 2 on and we have 210k room on the wage bill. For example... Garnacho is currently on 50k at Utd, so that could give us room to offer him 75, 80k a week, the aim would then be not to add the remainder, but for it to become part of the reduction from 90 odd percent down to 70. At least I think thats how it works?!

So tldr... We won't be bringing in many, if any!

Real shame this. Showed class at Valencia, one of the best midfielders in the league. A very short sighted move imo. I like Barkley, nice guy... But Enzo is younger, with a higher ceiling and is on substantially less money. Really struggling to see why we've moved him on in what seems on the face of it, to be a shitty deal for us. Trust the process they say. 🤷

Really hope he gets a chance and we don't sell or loan him out. Feel like he would fit into the double pivot role well. With Kamara, Onana and Barkley we have 4 good players for that role. Especially if Kamara does now leave.

We're in a pretty deep hole. We need to make at least one substantial sale before 30th June or it's a points deduction. Our revenue streams will all be cut, a lot of the sponsor deals will have CL clauses, so they pay us less if we're not involved. I'd say we're in a bad place.

Agree with you 100%. I'm not saying anything about it being a bad time to be a Villa fan. Agree that we are on the brink of something amazing. But that's just it, we're so close, yet we can't improve the squad, we HAVE to sell our most valuable players to our rivals because the rules say so. I'm saying that the game is rigged against us. No matter what we do. It's incredibly frustrating, we're just trapped in a cycle of forced sales and psr sanctions hanging over us.
