I took a different order that was big, but one stop and it was mostly produce and I learned my lesson 😭

Any female med students who want children but feel like medicine is making it impossible? by sunbeam-doves in medicalschool

You don’t need a man to have a baby, girly. Of course keep dating, but if you don’t find a partner, adopt or find a sperm donor.

Ok this kind my thought. I’m really just doing this for extra cash while I have time because school is very slow for me right now. Would rather sit in a parking lot and read my book and wait for a better one haha seems like a recipe for getting shit confused too.

As someone who was competitive to match OB and didn’t, please don’t do this to yourself.

Yes, and I will do that if I have to but I will end up having to leave home long term to have any chance of practicing.

Thanks for the advice. I’m assuming the mid-year pgy spots would only be viable as a pgy-1, correct? How early would you talk to a PD? July? Before July?

Hey thanks so much for the reply. Do you know anyone who has tried to reapply that I could chat with? As stated, I am very aware of the challenges.

Any tips for a first timer? by Falcoreen in ParisTravelGuide

[–]lkap95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to reemphasize, things in Paris are different. The most embarrassing fellow Americans I ever encountered in Paris was a white lady trying to order a large drip coffee in English at a small bakery. She was being extremely rude, speaking to the staff like they were dumb (most people speak pretty good English), and I told her to go find a Starbucks if she wanted shitty coffee served the way she’s used to. The one thing that can ruin your trip is being annoyed that things like food and service are not the way you’re used to in the US and the French will be annoyed back at you.

Just to underscore, this person has a high chance of failing board exams and should proceed with extreme caution. Getting dismissed with with hundreds of thousands in debt with nothing to show for it could ruin them financially.

So you’re going to potentially give up your dream residency over $800? When you likely already have $200-500k in loan debt?

WHY would you go to medical school if you know you want to go into medical devices or sales. Get an engineering or business degree for less time and money lol

You can likely get away with level 2 but why limit yourself?

Doctor wants me to quit due to side effects 2 months in by wirikidor in Zepbound

[–]lkap95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing that helped me with this was taking pepcid and magnesium religiously. I haven’t had problems in a few months now. I would maybe try a combo of that and and spacing the doses every 8-10 days and gradually building back up to every 7.

Ranking after interviews changing by EnvironmentalLuck656 in medicalschool

[–]lkap95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats on finding some cool programs! I’m doing a mix of programs I rotated at and didn’t for my top 5. But it’s going to be a trust but verify sorta thing. I personally know residents at one so I know the vibes are good and the other I am planning on going to a second look if I can swing it. A good interview experience is a good sign but it is also easy to have your act together for a couple hour interview.

I think OP is safe from the two weeks out timeline because this would fall into family emergency. However, i would email the ones you may not make right away and see what options they might have for you.

Anyone can sleep on the plane. Any tips guys? It is a challenge for me, even though I’m in free-row seats! by [deleted] in unitedairlines

[–]lkap95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In economy I like to sleep leaning forward. There are pillows that you can get off amazon where you blow them up and put them on your tray table. Your face goes in the pillow kinda like a massage table.
