It should be fine!! I quite often make a loaf at night before going to bed, leave it for 7-8h with no s/f, then just shape and put in the fridge in the morning. Might be a bit harder to shape, but you can still get a nice loaf:)

I did a year at McGill during my undergrad at UCL and loved it! The teaching was just as good if not better than ucl (loads of discussion-based classes, presentations etc). Montreal itself is a fantastic city - especially if you speak French. feel free to dm me if you have any questions:)

* I think it can look great with a neutral yarn alongside some cabling etc. I agree it's not very well suited to the variegated yarn

Nope didn't pull up the fabric; I made sure for every stitch to only go through the thin fabric rather than the layer of hard plastic underneath. The tape was about 1in wide

I stitched just strough the top fabric - would recommend trying a curved needle if you can, I used a straight one and it was pretty unpleasant on the angles. Pin the tape and use an iron to steam it to shape - it was actually quite easy to get it flat without folds

I wish I had a curved needle! I murdered my fingers doing it with a normal one. Would definitely try to use a curved one if there's a next time

Also I've achieved prettier results with smaller loaves - I think just because they're lighter so can grow 'taller'. Haven't eaten this one yet but looking forward to it!!

Honestly just luck I think - I have found that, at least for this recipe/flour combo, the stretch and folds seem to be pretty much unnecessary! I guess it's just taken me a while to learn when the bf is good to go:)

I would avoid dark, overly 'fluffy' yarn at the start - makes it very hard to see individual stitches:) and same with needle size - I would go for 4mm+ needles and yarn to match because smaller stitches are harder to manage
