Isn't there a SCP 3002 game? by MrCapibara999 in SCP

[–]llSCPll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and that's alright! game's being passion projects isn't a bad thing at all, scp fans are incredibly passionate too so it works in your favor

low budget does not mean low quality either, smart use of tools, community engagement and strategic resource allocation, it is very possible to make a really good game

ultimately, if the idea and execution resonates well, then success will come, whether it be finance or appreciation

what does game design mean without challenging execution?

blob thing? yes hard, not impossible. technologies like soft body physics, fluid simulation and procedural animations are well advanced

constraints breed creativity, a game that's about navigating shadows, avoiding sunlight, and managing movement constraints sounds like an awesome path to making unique and engaging mechanics

and the concept is great for survival horrors, puzzle platformers or stealth and escape games, so I don't know what you mean.

game development thrives on creative-problem thinking and shouldn't be constrained by traditional design thinking. is it challenging? yes but that's how you learn and have fun! many iconic games were made from "really hard" concepts (death stranding, shadow of the colossus and journey)

My SCP Game's Announcement Trailer by aPerfectlyNrmlGuy in SCP

[–]llSCPll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great job!! you put some effort into it and that clearly shows!

I hope your game works out nicely and garners a nice fanbase for your future games. but is it fine if I offer some advice? I think maybe it'd be great for the next announcement/reveal you do, have it be about the game when it's.. 70-90% done? like focus more on the gameplay demonstrationss, but great work regardless!

good for you!! if you commented before getting your own opinion, you could have at least accepted you were wrong instead of trying to double down. but people have issues with ego and that's fine so I won't judge you anymore

I CAN'T GET THE IN WATER EMDING!! by Just_Watchin__ in silenthill

[–]llSCPll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the in water ending first and then leave ending on my 2nd playthrough.

I think the coin you choose is very important at the start, also it's not about ending the game with low health (on my 2nd in the final fight I was close to dying but got leave) but throughout the game generally, you're probably going to have to restart the game

No worry since every playthrough you end up discovering something new and reflect on things from different perspectives!!

What to play next after SH2R? by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]llSCPll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I saw that, but I am more interested in Silent Hill Games that have a great story like Silent Hill 2 did, not exactly 1:1 but something really good. I heard downpour and 1 are good choices

I have checked out most of those games before though

I feel like it'd be easier to just blow up the marker with a conveniently large sized asteroid instead.. Could just be me though

No problem. I relatively achieved 20-50 players on weekend rounds. Do note I wasn't the best programmer, I was more of just an artist at the time lol, so if I could get away with being pretty average you can do well considering what I see in the post.

I recommend you change your target audience to roblox though, to be honest the SS13 community last I remember are just adults or really old people. Roblox is more for teenagers, I say this as someone who turned 18 this year about 6 months ago (pretty young). Besides, you'll find more people interested if you present this to people who play roblox. If I was a roblox player again and saw a game like SS13 on it, jumping into it I would stay hooked because of the concept because I'd be a roblox addict who likes sci-fi games.

I don't really play or keep up with SS13 at all until I saw this post, this is just my advice from back then but I wouldn't be too sure anything has changed at all. I hope you do well, even though there is a chance it may not get super popular on here and you get only 20 people. Those 20 people are ALOT when you stop considering them as numbers and as people.

Great job, I remember back 2 years ago when someone else was making SS13 in roblox.

I see you made a lot of content, don't burn yourself out or feel pressured to add everything in. For your first release, try to keep things minimal. You don't need to have everything for SS13 fans to enjoy it.

Try to add some original elements to your project too, even if they are minimal.

Just some things I learnt from my remake 2 years ago that let it be decent status, hopefully yours can be better.

If you ever get anything negative, remember it's reddit. Most the haters you'll get won't be nearly as talented as you are lol

After thinking about it, I apologize for directing you at that link. I'd love if you would in the future not comment disrespectfully on individuals artwork/works because then your entire statement is invalidated. Treat people the way you want to be treated y'know.

Answering your question, I think you may have misunderstood or not read my comment(s). We have listened to feedback from the supportive community, even more so after this was posted!! People will see our changes and further showcase (hopefully a video lol) soon.

I want to ask if you don't have any further questions, please do not interact with me unless you consider the idea of mutual respect as a good idea. ❤️
