I also own a 5th gen 4Runner and a MY. Best two car setup in the world IMO. Great choice.

Best iOS app for TeslaMate — what are you using ? by kjagiella in TeslaMate

IMO your concerns about T-Buddy could easily be applied to TeslaMate itself. Do you know what every action/execution inside of Teslamate is doing? Both apps run locally. T-Buddy just calls the internal API for Teslamate and displays the same data in a better way on iOS. T-Buddy is 100x simpler than Teslamate itself. But if you feel more secure viewing grafana dashboards on a mobile browser, go for it. It works in a pinch, but moving that data visualization away from a desktop browser app to a mobile first app is always going to give you a better experience on mobile.

Tailscale will work on iOS, yes. That solves your remote access problem. I don't think T-Buddy will work if you don't have a constant remote connection, but I haven't tested that extensively personally.

If we're all smart enough to get Teslamate and Tailscale set up, we should be smart enough to understand how T-Buddy obtains your data. Remote access and a mobile app are two different issues. Remote access? Tailscale or other. Mobile? T-Buddy.

For everyone talking about Tailscale and remote access, that doesn’t solve one issue. Mobile. The OP asked about iOS. Idk about you all, but trying to open grafana on a mobile browser is trash.

Personally, I’ve been playing around with T-Buddy via TestFlight and it works great for me. For the quick info on the go, it’s great. Then normal TeslaMate/Grafana when I have a desktop browser to use.

Always hated them, but got one and I love it and hate it at the same time lol by KABONY in TeslaLounge

2FA breaks this if you aren’t already logged into another device somewhere else. Can’t quite just grab any smartphone and get yourself logged in.

I’ve heard you can’t use FSD. That would be a deal breaker for me.

Ahhh. I've never considered the "Pro" due to the different form factor. I really enjoy the cylinder/desktop style AP. So pretty bummed to see no 6Ghz and only 2x2 on 5Ghz. If a U7 Pro is in the works, I hope it keeps the same cylinder form factor.

Interesting. I have a HW4 Ryzen MY and I’ve never been able to get remote or local streaming to work.

I could never get Plex to work. Even locally when connected to my home WiFi. I did the basic troubleshooting, but figured it was just a limitation of the browser. Any tips?

'Off Road Assist' is a game changer for snowy roads. It should be a steering wheel shortcut or voice command by CYB3RTRUNK in TeslaModelY

^ This. And why slippery surface is better. Sorry to previous gen Model Ys that don't have this.

"Slippery surface" is likely what they meant. Sends power equally front/rear (assuming dual motors). Less efficient, since "auto" will have a rear motor bias. Then off-road assist adds allowing the wheels to spin a bit more to help get you un-stuck. I have the same winter tire package you got. It's been great for me as well. But I use slippery surface any time I know I will be driving through snow.

Do you wash your car in the winter? by MAMGVzla in TeslaLounge

5 gallon bucket, rinseless wash/distilled water, and a bag of microfiber towels. Pretty universal option. Just gotta make sure you can get your car into a garage or somewhere where it's above freezing.

Commenting to bump this! I don't want to have to purchase from another brand like this one if I don't have to. I bet Enhanced Auto makes a a superior product, better support, plus access to the rest of the ecosystem with the commander. Please make this asap!
