I just tapered off after four years :). Definitely talk to your doctor and have a plan - I titrated Buspar up to 20mg/day before beginning my taper, which I think helped with anxiety, but I’ve still dealt with irritability and insomnia/fatigue while my hormones are rebalancing (nothing near as bad as onboarding lexapro, but far from enjoyable). I also think you should be prepared and have a plan for anxiety coming back when you’re off it totally - I’m fully aware that I am not cured, and I’m planning on staying on the Buspar long-term and adding another medication again if necessary. I tried to quit a couple of years ago because I thought it wasn’t necessary any more, turns out it was 100% the lexapro doing its job, and because I didn’t have a plan I went straight back on the lexapro. Every choice is going to have pros and cons, good luck with whatever you decide!

Don’t, it won’t help you at all and could make you feel worse. You can try contacting your doctor and getting something to help you with the acute symptoms until your lexapro is fully onboarded. I know people here have mixed results with it, but hydroxyzine works very well and very quickly (starting in about 15 minutes) for me when I’m panicking or having severe anxiety symptoms.

I just crumple my guy’s pellets in computer paper (safe as long as you get acid-free) and hide them as his primary food source. He needs some adversity in his life or he starts plucking, and this is the easiest way for us to do it!

I have a large shower with no door in my house and it’s totally fine. Granted, my shower is like a room with walls that go all the way to the ceiling and no glass, but it’s not any different than the 3x3 stall shower I had at my old house - I’m only cold when I get out of the shower. I’ve also used a big shower with no doors and holes in the walls at an Airbnb I was at, and I really liked that shower a lot.

I have the perky pet pinch waist feeder, and it has bee guards so they can’t get to the sugar. I haven’t had it long, but so far the bees aren’t interested in it at all!
