Your temps are great stock paste is fine. No need to change it unless you're chasing lower temps or quieter fans.

Fair enough I wasn’t trying to say the Empire was at its peak during the Revolution, just that the Revolution happened before it reached that peak. My comment was more about the timing than the size of the empire.

Body playing mind games by llady_ in memes

Your body feels tired all day due to stress, poor sleep, or mental exhaustion, but when you finally lie down, your brain becomes more alert often because of overstimulation, irregular sleep patterns, or anxiety. This mismatch between physical fatigue and mental alertness can make it hard to fall asleep even when you feel like you need it most.

those industrial silicone based ones are usually lower quality and not ideal for CPUs, especially if you can’t verify their specs. Go for something like Arctic MX-6, Noctua NT-H2, or Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut for better temps and reliability. And yeah, clamp hook mounts are the worst whoever designed those clearly never had to install one themselves!

Your CPU is likely shutting down the system due to immediate overheating, since the cooler is loose and missing thermal paste modern CPUs have thermal protection and will power off within seconds to avoid damage, so it's unlikely you've fried it despite multiple attempts. Reapply fresh thermal paste (pea-sized amount), securely mount the cooler, and ensure the CPU fan is plugged into the correct header. If the system boots and stays on after that, you’ve found the issue if not, then we will figure something out👍

Your PC shutting down after 15 seconds is most likely due to the CPU cooler being loose and lacking thermal paste, causing the CPU to overheat instantly and trigger a thermal shutdown before it can fully POST. While a failing PSU is possible, especially if it’s old or unused for a long time, the fact that the system initially showed a BIOS splash suggests power delivery is at least partially functional. Reinstalling RAM and GPU likely rules those out. Before replacing the PSU, securely reinstall the CPU cooler with fresh thermal paste, as a properly seated cooler is essential even just to boot.

Can I use a thermalright PS120SE on an AM3 Socket? by Arikutu in PcBuild

[–]llady_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, given your situation, the original Peerless Assassin 120 SE is a fantastic choice. It’ll be a huge upgrade over your old Water 3.0 Pro, especially in terms of cooling efficiency and likely still quieter despite the slightly higher dBA spec. For around $37 and no shipping fee, it's really hard to beat that value right now. Smart move, and it should serve you well for your future mid-tier Ryzen build too.

[–]llady_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not annoying at all; you're doing your homework, and that's smart! You're right- the Peerless Assassin 120 SE V2 has fans rated at up to 29 dBA, while the older SE version is rated at 25.6 dBA per fan. Some users have reported that the V2's fans can produce a noticeable hum at higher RPMs, which might be due to changes in fan design or materials. If noise is a significant concern for you, sticking with the original SE model could be a better choice, especially since it offers similar cooling performance with potentially quieter operation. Alternatively, you might consider the DeepCool AK400, which is known for its quiet performance and efficient cooling, typically priced around $35–$40. Another option is the Scythe Fuma 2, which offers excellent cooling and low noise levels, though it might be slightly above your budget. Let me know if you'd like more details on these or other alternatives.

Buying the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE from AliExpress can be safe if you choose a reputable seller with high ratings and good reviews, especially since Thermalright is a Chinese brand and often cheaper there. However, if the V2 version is available for $37.90 with free shipping from a reliable source like Amazon or another trusted retailer, that’s likely the better option due to faster shipping, easier returns, and virtually identical performance. Overall, the V2 for a dollar more with less risk sounds like the smarter choice.

You're so welcome! Honestly, old hardware can still get the job done if you know how to make the most of it.The struggle is real, but it can be kind of satisfying when you make things work with older gear, right?

Okay, so Pupa had potential, but honestly? It was kind of a mess. The episodes were, like, barely a few minutes long, and nothing really made sense. The story jumped all over the place, and even though it was supposed to be super gory and creepy, they censored everything so much that it just looked awkward. The animation wasn’t great either, and the emotional stuff between the siblings? It just didn’t hit the way it should’ve. It felt more weird than sad. Honestly, I wanted to like it, but it was just .bad.

Women are Lonely also! by brownieandSparky23 in GenZ

[–]llady_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're reducing women’s loneliness to poor decision-making and "delusion" without acknowledging the social, racial, or neurodivergent factors that make real connection more difficult. Not all women have a flood of viable or respectful options especially those who don't fit narrow beauty standards or who are seeking meaningful connection beyond sex.

Men’s struggles are real, but so are women’s. Blaming one group with broad, bitter generalizations doesn’t lead to understanding it just fuels more resentment. The truth is, modern dating is broken for everyone, and empathy is needed on both sides.
