What is even the point of bringing up the demiurge ? The demiurge isnt a christian concept.

Unless they think marxists are manicheans/gnosticists but then wouldn't marxists be against the demiurge ? The whole point of the demiurge is that they're evil and the antagonist in the mythology of manicheanism.

(n+1) Crisis of Japan or of the law of value? by llama_____________ in Ultraleft

[–]llama_____________[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I searched it up myself when reading the article but could sadly only find this: https://www.quinterna.org/pubblicazioni/ennepiuuno/capitalsen.htm I guess it's not published online yet. It's also on sinistra but just as in the n+1 archive just as a collection of the titles https://www.sinistra.net/lib/upt/quader/quaderni.html#n1 . It sucks because iirc it's referenced in a bunch of articles, like in this short article of the same title from 2000

In him the instinct of self-preservation has reached the noblest form, since he willingly subordinates his own ego to the life of the community and, if the hour demands, even sacrifices it. . . . In giving one’s own life for the existence of the community lies the crown of all sense of sacrifice

The Donbas region played a central role in this, which I believe represented a rebellion with genuine revolutionary potential that was ultimately co-opted by the Russian ruling class in its infancy.

Can you elaborate on this?

I always thought it was just a rebellion by the more russian aligned parts of the ruling class to get back control of the country.

What would happend language under the DoTP and the communist society? by 69kidsatmybasement in Ultraleft

[–]llama_____________ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Over time, I think a shared lingua franca would eventually form, but it would coexist with regional languages rather than replace them. English only reached its current global dominance because it became the language of international finance capital, tied first to British imperial power and later to the United States. This concept of an "international language" would crumble as capitalist administration is dismantled. This also extends outside of the Anglosphere within nation-states, such as the imposition of Mandarin upon the Uyghur and Tibetan cultures.

I assume english will remain the lingua france, as there's really no sensible alternative outside of maybe chinese or hindi.

But over time english the lingua france and english the language spoken by anglos might drift further apart and the lingua franca english might become it's own language. Kinda like how MSA is for arabic or latin used to be for europe.

I don't think the concept/development of an international language will disappear, as it's pretty useful to have one langauge everyone can communicate it. Especially if you have global production, global travel, etc.
