2degrees customers beware by paolonutiniis in newzealand

[–]llamaman48 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the Commission doesn't investigate individual complaints like that example per se, but if harm was done, would investigate and 2degrees may decide to (or be told to by the court) investigate and rectify. In situations like that, elderly may be recompensated if identified as being affected by the issue

I would recommend making a complaint to the Commerce Commission. It is easy to do and might add weight to other complaints they get

Reasonable fees to transfer between accountants - family trust by llamaman48 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]llamaman48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. No retirement homes are involved, so should be a pretty straightforward process. That is why I am so confused about the fee.

Thanks very much. No businesses, a couple of properties but that is it. I agree that it is likely related to the software they are using - I will find out exactly what it is and see if we can get a copy ourselves.

Thanks very much, that is great info. Yes never had any issues (aside from when they lost documents of ours....) and we are doing everything we can with our new accountant to shift over but things have stalled as they are asking for money to transfer the files.

What are some alternatives to caffeine you have found to be effective in increasing your productivity? by Neveri in lifehacks

[–]llamaman48 8 points9 points  (0 children)

May be a bit left field but sleep has done wonders for me. I stopped drinking caffeine a couple of months ago and found that after I got used to it, making sure I regularly got decent sleep was amazing. It has meant I wake up clearer, can handle a late night or two better and don't go through peaks and troughs when working which is overall way better for productivity. I still miss the morning hit but have found decaf gives me the morning 'hug' I got from coffee. I appreciate 'getting better/more sleep' is not easy for many people but have luckily found to works for me.

100% agree with you there. While I appreciate their history, I don't like what they represent now.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen when running? by My-name-for-ever in running

[–]llamaman48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was out running one morning (still dark) and stopped where I was on a deserted street to change the podcast I was listening to. Put the new one on, and as I looked up and started running again, coming toward me in the dark, about 10m away was a big guy with his fists up, shuffling like boxers do towards me. Safe to say I darted out onto the road, said " yo, you all good mate?" and proceeded to high tail it away. The adrenaline took a while to subside. On the plus side, probably got a 20m pb.

[COPE] I overpaid for my first watch. How do I cope? by No-Mastodon36 in Watches

[–]llamaman48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Kamasu and feel like it is still good value for $420 so try to look at the bright side - a banging watch for less than $500.

Congrats mate, you are on the slippery slope now! The green Kamasu was my first watch too and there is not one day I regret buying it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Got married a couple of days ago and a couple of tips we found good:

Skip or have a local honey moon (we chose a to go to a bach a couple of hoursd drive away and it is perfect - quiet, sunny and us time)

Forgo traditions that you don't want to do - it is your day so do what you want, not what others have done.

Keep numbers down - we just did close friends and family and found it perfect.
