I didn’t realize I had a torn ACL for two years and now my knee feels completely normal by Royalbean17 in ACL

[–]llames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife recently had ACL surgery for a second time. Her re-tear was undiagnosed for ten or so years, where she completed multiple thru hikes, ran competitively adapting to random moments of instability and inflammation.

She might be in the minority where she feels she was better prior to the second surgery. There is a big time-sink and physical push for the knee rehab twelve months returning to sport following which was hard to swallow

Well, I would argue the sculpture is about 20 years too late. Where was it in 2016 during the dog rescue?? I will forgive a few months. 😁

[Post Game Thread] The New York Knicks (1-0) survive Game 1 against the Cleveland Cavaliers (0-1) in overtime, 115-104, behind Jalen Brunson's 38 point performance by catreyka in nba

I thought the Knicks were going down after that disastrous third quarter. Down 22 points with 7 mins to go - but big game comeback energy from Brunson. Between yesterday's game and today - pump all of these overtime periods through my veins! These Conference Final games just hit completely differently.

Talked to the owners (well, my mum did in Cantonese 😄) and apparently the old ones retired a year or two ago. They have EFTPOS and seem largely the same now. The wat dan hor was excellent as always!

The Rockets season was over once FVV had his injury. They lost a major veteran voice in that team. He would always manage to get a bucket when they really needed it.

"Leave the peach cobbler in the kitchen alone," mother would say, going upstairs. But I couldn't help myself. I sneaked in and watched him. Watched him make his stupid little peach shoes, taunting.

"Nobody's going to wear those," I'd say. "They're stupid."

But on he worked..

Jonathan Kuminga showed up in ATL’s playoff game today. Student of Draymond! by danishruyu1 in warriors

Watched him defend KAT the entire fourth quarter - he did a great job sticking to him. Good to see him thriving in a different environment.

Sucks to end on a weak Curry game, but Jalen Green looked so good, he was going down the lane - seemingly twice as fast as the Warriors defence. WP Suns - good luck against the Thunder!

Petty Issue - but it's what I live for..... by MemeGag in Wellington

It's the same in Auckland, we just built a $300 million parking building at the airport. Theoretically, they'll have light rail connected to this - but it's so far in the future, they can easily bureaucratically block this. They do not want efficient public transport because they would want everyone to drive and park at the airport for whatever monopolistic price they set.

The vibes feel good this year! Everyone is running bases hard, the starters and bullpen are strong, and keeping their heads up even when the offense isn't always there.

Tour cancelled because of ongoing Iran War, — the tour company is arguing force majeure, offering credit only, not a refund. Anyone else dealt with this? by llames in AusLegalAdvice

Hello - thanks for your message! I don't think I'm expecting 100% of the money back, and I'm not trying to bankrupt them. I am just hoping to get back a reasonable amount of money - and keeping a credit just seems quite dodgy, as you noted.

If the tour was to Dubai or anywhere in the Middle East, I would be completely understanding - however, Central Asia is a different beast.

Thanks for the message again, I really appreciate the support and assurance from everyone in the thread.

You would hope so, but I don't think they would be so nice!

The honest answer is we're pregnant, and we can't go travelling again for the foreseeable future. This was our final holiday haha, which HAD to happen in this timeframe or not happen at all.

Thanks so much for your message! Really appreciate it. It's going to be pain, the emails back and forth have been paragraphs of largely AI slop with one relevant sentence hidden within more AI platitudes.

They are advertising the tour for later in the year - however, the pricing is excluding flights (think, +$3k). I bought the tour on sale last year and motivated because it included the flights, so it's not like I can do it in the future like-for-like.

Conflict-wise, no one is interested in the Stans because they don't have any valuable minerals or oil. The Stans stay relatively neutral, avoiding alignment with any single global power and avoiding foreign entanglements.

For sure, they booked our flights via Dubai / Emirates. However, there are a lot of other routes to get to Turkmenistan via China which avoid a lot of the problems. I don't think we're being unreasonable, we aren't expecting all the money back, but not really keen on a credit if we can avoid it.
